Overnight Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
Followed recipe as is with the exception of cutting back on the nutmeg to 1/2 tsp and added cinnamon instead--I love cinnamon. The coffee cake was super moist even days later. This was a huge time saver to prepare the night before and bake in the morning. I will make this again!

Cinnamon Rolls III

Followed the recipe exactly but did not use pecans and did this the old fashioned way as I do not have a bread maker. The buns were delicious! Can't wait to make it again for my boys.....

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
I tried this recipe after a friend of mine said that she uses slow cooker mashed potatoes all the time. I looked on AR (my favorite recipe site) and found this recipe. I didn't plan on using red potatoes but simple white ones. I added more garlic only because we love garlic. I made the potatoes two nights before just as I would make mashed potatoes, then put them in the fridge--I have to say, that I was very nervouse because I thought they tasted like instant potatoes. When the day came, I put on the crock pot (approx 3 hours before dinner)and put my potatoes in the crock pot and put a towel over the top then the cover---oh wow---they were the best potatoes I have ever eaten!!! WOW....I will definitely be using these for years to come to save time and to keep those tators warm!!!! thank you!

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
I followed some of the changes that were listed--I used sour cream instead of mayo (texture was great), used 3-4 cloves of garlic, used only grated paremesan cheese (all I had on hand) and used shredded swiss cheese instead of the mozzarella. I also mixed the swiss in the dip as well as on the top---it was great. I mixed this the night before and stuck it in the fridge--then when I needed it, I popped it in the microwave for a couple minutes---perfect!!!!! Next time I will make a double batch as I only got two bites---the dip went extremely fast!!! My boys loved it! Highly recommended.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2011
Thought this cake was really good, however, I used one cup of oil and I have to admit that I felt it was too oily--you really don't need all the oil with the sourcream. I will use this again, but will make it with 1/2 the oil per other recommendations.

Half and Halfs

Made this as is and was pretty good--however, I think it would be better with white chips in the chocolate half and chocolate chips in the plain half---I will try that next time. thanks!

Easy Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2011
Good but I had to add some spices/vanilla/almond so that it wouldn't be so bland. It does remind me of bread pudding---it was great with my changes and I used fresh peaches...oh yum!

Roasted Garlic Zucchini and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2011
I found this recipe today in the daily favorite photos--just in time to make something different! I used summer squash instead of zuchinni because that is all I had on hand. I used extra garlic, but will probably even use more next time. I cooked the squash for about 15 minutes before adding tomatoes, garlic and onions just so they wouldn't burn. I can't wait to try this with zuchinni...thanks!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
I thought these brownies were excellent. They are chewy and just plain delicious. If you like cake like brownies, these are not for you. I cut back the sugar to 2.5 cups--my friend who is a brownie expert said these are the best she has ever had! Hubby loved them too, with ice cream of course!!!

My Navy Bean Soup

Per other reviews, I soaked my beans overnight and used ham in place of the bacon. I also used some spices and only 1/4 cup of butter. I thought the soup was pretty good with these changes.

Roasted Winter Squash Seeds

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
Made some of my favorite squash today, butternut, and decided to look on line to see if the seeds could be cooked like the pumpkin seeds. I found this recipe and followed it but had to cut back on the oil/salt because my squash didn't give me quite a cup! My DH loved it!!!! Quick easy and delicious. You can use any time of flavoring you like--cinammon & sugar, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, chili powder, etc....possibilities are endless. Thanks Blancheskid.....
