Next Day Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2013
Soup was very good (with extra seasonings) and a nice treat for leftover turkey. I did make my own turkey stock from my leftover turkey and used peas and corn because I did not have any green beans. I also added more belle's seasoning because I thought the soup needed more flavor.

Chicken Monterey

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2013
My DH loved this chicken recipe. I took some of the advice of others and left out the celery salt, cut back on the butter to make the sauce (used a little olive oil instead--still tasted GREAT), and I used a half a cup of monterey jack cheese in the sauce and didn't feel that it needed more. I also used three cloves of garlic, and didn't have any white wine on hand, so I used cooking sherry. I used 2 chicken breasts and cut them in half to speed up the cooking process and used the sauce amount in the recipe and it was just enough--so if your making 8 breasts, you may want to make more sauce. I also browned them in the butter once it was brown--kept them moist and golden brown--yum. My DH said this was awesome and wants this more often. Next time I will increase the sauce and serve this over wide noodles! Yum....thank you Doreen for sharing!

Chocolate-Filled Crescents

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2012
I found this recipe in a Hershey's cookbook when I was a kid. My Mom and I made these together using regular size milk chocolate chips instead of mini chips. Before we put the chips on the croissant, we sprinkled cinnamon and sugar, then put the chips, then rolled it up. Since then, I have been hooked--and now make them for my husband who loves them. Did I mention that eating one straight out the oven with the chocolate warm and melting and a glass of cold milk is just heavenly? ENJOY!

Eggplant Parmesan With Easy Homemade Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2012
I followed this recipe exactly and thought it was good. I also liked the addition of the red pepper flakes...gave a slight kick! Next time, I will add more spices per my own preference and also will double up on the sauce as my husband likes more sauce on his spaghetti dishes. Quick easy meal! thanks!

YUM! Made this with white chips and butterscotch pudding mix because that is all I had. I also use the vanilla glaze recipe from this site, but made it chocolate instead!

Shoyu Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
DH wanted terriyaki steaks--so I came to AR and found this one. Followed recipe exactly, except I used low salt soy sauce--marinaded my steaks while at work, then cooked them on the grill....YUM! Plan on trying this on chicken next! thank you!

Southwest Chicken Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2012
I gave this 4 stars because I altered it a bit to give it more flavor. As other reviewers suggested, I used a fajita mix on my chicken. I cooked the chicken in a fry pan with the seasoning, then pull the chicken so it would have the "pulled" texture instead of cubed--personal preference. I also did not par-bake the crust--put everything in at once and baked it....yum...yum. DH loved it--so this will be something we will make again!

Overnight Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
Followed recipe as is with the exception of cutting back on the nutmeg to 1/2 tsp and added cinnamon instead--I love cinnamon. The coffee cake was super moist even days later. This was a huge time saver to prepare the night before and bake in the morning. I will make this again!

Followed the recipe exactly but did not use pecans and did this the old fashioned way as I do not have a bread maker. The buns were delicious! Can't wait to make it again for my boys.....

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
I tried this recipe after a friend of mine said that she uses slow cooker mashed potatoes all the time. I looked on AR (my favorite recipe site) and found this recipe. I didn't plan on using red potatoes but simple white ones. I added more garlic only because we love garlic. I made the potatoes two nights before just as I would make mashed potatoes, then put them in the fridge--I have to say, that I was very nervouse because I thought they tasted like instant potatoes. When the day came, I put on the crock pot (approx 3 hours before dinner)and put my potatoes in the crock pot and put a towel over the top then the cover---oh wow---they were the best potatoes I have ever eaten!!! WOW....I will definitely be using these for years to come to save time and to keep those tators warm!!!! thank you!

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
I followed some of the changes that were listed--I used sour cream instead of mayo (texture was great), used 3-4 cloves of garlic, used only grated paremesan cheese (all I had on hand) and used shredded swiss cheese instead of the mozzarella. I also mixed the swiss in the dip as well as on the top---it was great. I mixed this the night before and stuck it in the fridge--then when I needed it, I popped it in the microwave for a couple minutes---perfect!!!!! Next time I will make a double batch as I only got two bites---the dip went extremely fast!!! My boys loved it! Highly recommended.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2011
Thought this cake was really good, however, I used one cup of oil and I have to admit that I felt it was too oily--you really don't need all the oil with the sourcream. I will use this again, but will make it with 1/2 the oil per other recommendations.

Half and Halfs

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
Made this as is and was pretty good--however, I think it would be better with white chips in the chocolate half and chocolate chips in the plain half---I will try that next time. thanks!

Easy Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2011
Good but I had to add some spices/vanilla/almond so that it wouldn't be so bland. It does remind me of bread pudding---it was great with my changes and I used fresh peaches...oh yum!
