About this Cook
I'm a new mom of a 7 month old busy boy! I'm also married, have two boxers, and one cat I've had for 11 years since the day she was born. I've lived in Texas for 2 years now and still miss my friends and family back home. I've always loved baking, but becoming a wife and new mother has challenged me to become a regular kitchen queen. So far so good, but I've definitely had my flops.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! If it's sweet, it's something I'd probably like to make. I'm trying to grow my interests into other areas, though. We can't live off of cookies!
My favorite family cooking traditions
This year we hosted our very first Chrismas eve dinner. Since my husband loves to be in the kitchen as well it was a lot of fun for us.
My cooking triumphs
I cooked 6 different cookies/candy recipes and gave them as gifts this year as well. It was such a daunting task, but I was so proud of myself this year. We did a great job, and most of the recipes I make I found right here!
My cooking tragedies
If you flop, try again. If it doesn't sound right in the recipe, take some personal liberties, just write it down in case it's a triumph!

Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans
Flipping fabulous. I added fresh spinach and hour before serving. DELICIOUS!

Red Chard and Caramelized Onions
I'm not a fan of swiss chard, but this recipe at least made it eatable.

Apple Crisp II
I LOVED this recipe, but I certainly added my own flair. Everyone came back for seconds and thirds and begged me for the recipe. It's an awesome crisp! Here is what I did differently. I used a mix of Granny Smiths and Red Delicious. Added 1/2 cup sugar instead of 1 full because of the apple mixture. Added in caramel sprinkles from Pampered Chef. Perfection! I added about 2 tablespoons of cinnamon. Added nutmeg and salt (a dash). Doubled the topping and used old fashion oats and just a little more than 2 sticks of butter. With doubling the topping it requires 2. These changes ended up making it the perfect combination of tart, sweet, salty, buttery, and crunchy. It's amazing. I'm eager to make it again. Flipping fantastic!
