Candied Kielbasa

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2014
Absolutely fantastic. I reduced the sugar to 1/2 cup but followed the rest of the recipe to the letter. Made this for dinner served with mashed potatoes and green beans but will also serve at an upcoming party as an hors' de oeuvre. I think you could also use little smokies. The sauce would be good on a variety of other meats or as a basting sauce.

Homemade Melt-In-Your-Mouth Dark Chocolate (Paleo)

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2014
This was surprisingly good! I used a whisk to mix the cocoa, honey and vanilla into the melted coconut oil, then poured it into a foil-lined loaf pan (this size pan created the perfect thickness) and sprinkled in some toasted pecans. Chilled for about 1 1/2 hours, popped the foil out and cut the chocolate into pieces. Very creamy and definitely melt-in-your-mouth! Will make this again and again! Great recipe for a healthy treat!

Penne Pasta with Spinach and Bacon

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2014
Like some others, I thought this was a bit bland. Presentation; however, was beautiful! If I give this another try, I might add some grilled chicken and pesto.

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2013
Wow - easy and super delicious! I used two egg whites, doubled the cinnamon and only baked for a total of 45 minutes. They turned out fantastic! They're already half gone so it looks like I'll be making another batch for Christmas.

Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2013
This is the BEST cauliflower I've ever eaten!! I spread mine out on a foil-lined baking sheet and skipped the parsley (just because I didn't have any). Served with grilled salmon and a creamy cucumber salad. Delish!

Lavender Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2013
Wow, these are interesting and delicious!! I skipped the mint and squeezed the juice of 1/2 of a lemon into the dough for a little extra flavor (in addition to the lemon zest). The lavender scent was fairly strong when the cookies were baking but the taste was absolutely perfect once they had cooled a few minutes. (I used dried lavender flowers) Anyone who likes shortbread will loves these little gems!

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2013
This recipe will replace the one I've been using for the past 20 years! It was excellent. The only changes I made were to use just 1 T of mustard and in place of bread crumbs, I used oatmeal (trying to eat wheat-free). Next time I will take the advice of another reviewer and sauté the onions before adding to the meat mixture. I also had more meat than what would fit in my loaf pan so I made individual meat loafs with a muffin pan (reduced baking time by about 20 minutes). My son, who does NOT like meat loaf loved this recipe. Thanks for sharing!!

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

This didn't have a lot of flavor. Served with cranberry-honey mustard which was a nice add. However, I won't be making this again. Sorry

Lebanese Lemon Salad Dressing

This was good but way too lemony - even with extra oil added. Not sure I will make this again.

Garlic Croutons

These are beyond delicious!! I made mine from bakery hot dog buns. OMG! They didn't even make it onto the salad. This is a fantastic way to use up bread or buns that would otherwise be thrown out for the birds. Thanks for this amazing - easy recipe!!!

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
This is amazingly creamy without being too sweet. I made without nuts the first time and with toasted walnuts the second time - both were wonderful and vanished fast! This is the only recipe I'll use for chocolate fudge!

Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2012
Made a few modifications - used a 29 oz can of pumpkin, 8 oz of cool whip, about 3 oz of cream cheese and 2 t of pumpkin pie spice. We actually liked it a little thicker with more of a pumpkin flavor which was achieved by doubling the pumpkin and only using half of the cool whip. Very good on cinnamon graham crackers and granny smith apples.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2012
I think this recipe is a great starting point as I made a few changes. I added two stalks of celery - diced up, 1 can cr. mushroom and 1 can cr. chicken - both Healthy Request, chopped fresh parsley, 1/2 t black pepper, 3/4 t Mrs. Dash, 2 c chicken broth and only 1 can of Simply buttermilk biscuits. The biscuits just didn't seem to want to cook all the way through, so I took everything out of the crockpot (after about 6 hours on low), put it in a large Pyrex cake pan with the biscuit dough on top and baked at 350 in the oven for about 40 minutes. The results were amazing! Will definitely make again - especially on those cold winter nights.
