Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2013
This didn't have a lot of flavor. Served with cranberry-honey mustard which was a nice add. However, I won't be making this again. Sorry

Lebanese Lemon Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2013
This was good but way too lemony - even with extra oil added. Not sure I will make this again.

Garlic Croutons

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2012
These are beyond delicious!! I made mine from bakery hot dog buns. OMG! They didn't even make it onto the salad. This is a fantastic way to use up bread or buns that would otherwise be thrown out for the birds. Thanks for this amazing - easy recipe!!!

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
This is amazingly creamy without being too sweet. I made without nuts the first time and with toasted walnuts the second time - both were wonderful and vanished fast! This is the only recipe I'll use for chocolate fudge!

Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2012
Made a few modifications - used a 29 oz can of pumpkin, 8 oz of cool whip, about 3 oz of cream cheese and 2 t of pumpkin pie spice. We actually liked it a little thicker with more of a pumpkin flavor which was achieved by doubling the pumpkin and only using half of the cool whip. Very good on cinnamon graham crackers and granny smith apples.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2012
I think this recipe is a great starting point as I made a few changes. I added two stalks of celery - diced up, 1 can cr. mushroom and 1 can cr. chicken - both Healthy Request, chopped fresh parsley, 1/2 t black pepper, 3/4 t Mrs. Dash, 2 c chicken broth and only 1 can of Simply buttermilk biscuits. The biscuits just didn't seem to want to cook all the way through, so I took everything out of the crockpot (after about 6 hours on low), put it in a large Pyrex cake pan with the biscuit dough on top and baked at 350 in the oven for about 40 minutes. The results were amazing! Will definitely make again - especially on those cold winter nights.

Green Grape Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2012
I had never made this before but was asked to bring it to a party. Couldn't have been easier! Used both green and red grapes. Stirred the brown sugar in at the end and garnished with two small clusters of plain grapes - one red and one green along with toasted chopped walnuts. Toasting the walnuts really made the flavor pop. Presentation and taste were awesome!! Everyone loved this salad!

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
Excellent recipe! Didn't have tomatoes with garlic and onion so I just sauteed some chopped onion and minced garlic and added a can of plain diced tomatoes. Also used fresh basil rather than dried and skim milk rather than cream - to cut down down on some of the fat and calories. Definitely a keeper!!

Sweet Potato, Carrot, Apple, and Red Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
This is hands down, one of the best soups my family and I have ever eaten!!!! My only deviation from the recipe was that I used dried ginger, but will try fresh next time - just out of curiosity to see if it's even possible to improve the flavor. Will also make a double batch next time. Excellent, awesome, easy, outstanding recipe!!

Emily's Famous Marshmallows

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
Just made these and I have to say that at the beginning of the process I thought I was going to have to chalk this one up as one of those recipes that sounds good but doesn't live up to the hype...., I'm happy to say, that these turned out really well. Like other reviewers have said, once you have these, you won't want to go back to the store bought marshmallows! A couple of things I noted for the next time I make them: 4T of unflavored gelatin = 5 envelopes of Knox; get your water simmering, so once you add the Knox to your 1/2 c water, you can set that on top right away - otherwise it gets a little clumpy - which, by the way, does dissolve once it warms up; the vanilla you use makes a big difference in taste, and finally, work fast when getting the final product into your pan - waiting even a minute or two makes it a bit harder to spread. Fun recipe that tastes great! Will be giving these with gourmet hot chocolate and vintage looking mugs for Christmas gifts. Thanks for sharing!!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
Made these yesterday morning. This recipe makes a lot of dough so I divided in half. I added 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon to one half and chocolate chips to the other. Next time I would use 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and a few more chips to the other (I just kind of eye balled the chips). Both were excellent. I think the sky is the limit in terms of what you can add to these. I also want to try freezing the dough after it's been rolled out and cut. Excellent recipe!!
