Slow Cooker Chicken Parisienne

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
I followed this recipe exactly and was just a little disappointed that the sauce came out runny. It pours over the chicken very thick, but does not hold the consistency. I will make again, possibly with less wine and more flour to help thicken it up. The taste was very good. We served it over whole grain noodles.

Quick Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
I love to cook, but baking is my least favorite thing to do :) so finding an easy peanut butter cookie recipe fit the bill! After reading numerous reviews, I did half white, half brown sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, 2 tblsp. of flour and 1 1/2 tblsp. of butter. These are definitely a keeper!

Libby's® Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
Wow, this came out better than I could hope for. I followed the recipe exactly and it was restaurant quality! It does make a lot and the graham cracker crust doesn't begin to cover it, but when you take it out of the springform pan, it looks so pretty to see the three layers. This is a keeper and won't disappoint you!

Easy Homemade Beef and Ricotta Ravioli

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
I give this recipe a 4 only because I honestly believe it needs more hamburger in it... as much as I love cheese ravioli, I do love to bite into meat also. I did as others did and added 8 oz. of cream cheese to give it a bit of sweetness. I made homemade spaghetti sauce to put over it. I baked mine and next time will boil them as I didn't really care for the crispiness of the edges.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
Just made this dish tonight... and wow, it was scrumpdillyicious! Yes, I changed a few things and here they are: first, I did a dry rub consisting of garlic powder, pepper, paprika, italian seasoning, cayenne and basil.... then seared the meat before putting into the crock pot.... I used chicken broth instead of water; I used 1/2 c. wine instead of 3/4 c.; and I added soy sauce without measuring, in addition to worcestershire sauce. I tasted NO wine! I had purchased a pork tenderloin at the store that came with onions, carrots, celery and red potatoes.... all were perfectly done after about an hour on high, and 4 hours on low! And yes, this tastes like a prime cut of beef! We will definitely be making this one again!

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
I made this tonight for company and everybody loved it! I did have to cook it longer the second time the oven is on because we like our roasts medium, but other than that, followed the recipe exactly.

Slow Cooker Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
I made this today and it was a HUGE hit. I don't eat sweet potatoes so I am giving this review from 6 people who do and they all said it was 5 stars. The only thing I did different was use fresh sweet potatoes instead of canned; other than that, followed it exactly.

Thanksgiving Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
I made this today and it was a HUGE hit! Followed the recipe exactly... only thing I might change is to add something to spice it up a little just because I like spicy things.

Steak, Onion, and Pepper Fajitas

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Just made these tonight and wow, the marinade is the bomb! I squeezed fresh limes for the juice and it really made a difference. I bought round steak already thin sliced and did it in the cast iron skillet and did my vegetables in it after I removed the meat. I also cut down on the oil and liquid smoke, but other than that, followed it to a T. Delish!

Best Pennsylvania Dutch Chicken Corn Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
OMG I've died and gone to Lancaster County, where I was born and raised! This soup is so good I can't begin to describe the excellent flavor Well worth the time it takes to put together. The only changes I made was the corn, since this time of year there is no fresh corn available, I used 3 cans of white corn, drained. I also did not use the nutmeg as my mom told me that was not in my grandmother's original recipe and only used 1 tblsp. of salt. This is the bomb and will be made over and over!

Slow Cooker Thanksgiving Turkey

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
Wow, what a very tender turkey! Mine was 4.75 pounds and was done in 6 hours. I did it the night before so it was ready to put in the slow cooker. Three of us ate this and none of us could taste the bacon (I used 4 pieces) or the Worcestershire Sauce. As most reviewers, I used the gravy packet that came with the turkey and a jar of turkey gravy. The taste and texture was phenomenal. Can't wait to see how it taste on a sandwich tomorrow!

Reuben-Pierogie Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2011
Just made this today and it's very good! I used potato and cheddar pierogies because that's all the store had. It did take a good 40 minutes to cook, but well worth the wait!

Best Ever Sausage with Peppers, Onions, and Beer!

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
Ok, let me start by saying that based on flavor, I would give this 5 stars... based on whether it looked like the picture, it deserves 4. The pic makes it look like it turns into a true spaghetti sauce texture... I could not get it there... it was very soupy.... but, despite that, the flavor was fabulous! We served it over rice and have leftovers :) Any suggestions to make this sauce thicker?

Sausage, Peppers, Onions, and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
The first time I pulled this out of the oven, I had my doubts it was going to taste any different than if I had cooked sausage, peppers and onions with potatoes on the stove. The sauce didn't thicken up in 20 minutes so I put it back in the oven until it did, about an additional 15 minutes. The sauce thickened up nicely and this dish was exceptional. The only thing I added was a few red pepper flakes since I used mild sausage. A definite keeper!

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2010
This is definitely a great recipe. I did as suggested and added the baking powder, and used half white/half brown sugar. I also took the suggestion to use cinnamon and brown sugar coating after I sprayed the pan. Adds a nice little extra!

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
Just made this tonight for my boyfriend and his friend who came in from Ohio and all 3 of us gave it 5 stars, with a few adjustments like so many others have made. My package of chicken breasts came with 7 so I used them all. I added 1 can of diced tomatoes, 1 can of tomato paste and used oregano, basil and garlic powder. I cooked it on high for 1 hour and then 4 hours on low and it was so tender! The chicken just fell apart when I tried to take it out of the sauce. This is definitely a keeper!

Slow Cooker Lancaster County Pork and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
Ok, maybe I'm partial since I was born and raised in Lancaster, PA, but I love this recipe! Eating this dish on New Year's Day is a family tradition and has continued to be even though I am now in the South. I still have friends who look at me funny when I say "pork and sauerkraut" but if I can get them to try it, they are hooked! I have just purchased a slow cooker and needed this recipe and it was perfect! Thanks!

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2010
Holy cow was this scrumpdillyicious!!!! Easily a restaurant quality meal! I read many reviews and only made minor tweaks, but not changing the ingredients. I did the chicken breasts in a skillet and set aside. I then melted the butter and sauteed the spinach (one bag of fresh spinach, you could use more), mushrooms, garlic and just enough onion to taste. I didn't have italian seasoning so I improvised and used parsley, basil and oregano. As suggested, I only used about a teaspoon of the lemon juice. I served it over spaghetti. This is a keeper and will be kept in our rotation!

Nana's Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
This is the second apple crisp I have tried on this site and it was far superior than anything I have ever made. I had this for dessert for 12 people and everybody loved it! I did make just a few minor changes, like most others: I used 9 apples; I only used brown sugar; I melted all the butter and one and a halved the topping. After 50 minutes, the topping was perfect! Will definitely make this my apple crisp recipe to go to!
