Seven Layer Salad

Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Our family really liked this recipe. Instead of red wine, I used 1/4 red wine vinegar. Vinegar breaks down the meat and makes it more tender. Definately will make again. I finally found a good and easy stroganoff to make.

Apple Crumb Pie

Very Good! It needs to be made in a deep dish pie crust. I made it in a regular crust and doubled the crumb mixture as suggested by others and it did spill over. But I lined my cookie sheet with crinkled foil. I did use 2 more tablespoons of flour with the apples to thicken it up. Very tasty. Everyone loved it. I will make it again.

Kohlrabi with White Sauce

Kohlrabi is not sold in stores and I found it at the farmers market. I was thrilled! Then I was wondering if the sauce would be here on the website. I couldnt tell you how excited I was to have it available on line. My family is from Germany and we had this all of the time growing up. I just can't make it. We just had an exchange student from Germany and I asked his mom to make the white sauce if I was to buy califlower. She brough back many happy memories of all the wonderful dinners that my mom made. I will use this again and again. I added more pepper and that's just a personal taste. You did wonerful and now I can make it !!

Ham and Cheese Bowties

Honey Glazed Ham

Everybody loved it! Simple to make, excellent flavor and guests coulndt wait for dinner. I used ground cloves in my basting sauce. I microwaved the mixture once till melted and added cloves. I basted every 15-20 minutes and I had 18 lbs ham. It was delicious. I was close to the honey bake ham without the price tag ! I will stick with this receipe.

Black Forest Cake II

I thought because of the reviews this would be awesome. I make a blackforest cake every year for my sons birthday. It's his ablsolute favorite. This weekend we have company and I thought that I'd try this recipe only to be dissapointed. The cake is too fragile, but tastes ok, the buttercream measurement needs to have the liquid increase. I used about 3 tablespoons more cherry juice to make it smoother for spreading. Whipping cream is made with confectioners sugar and that was missing from the recipe. I added about 3 1/2 tablespoons to it. Because there was so many modifications, I give it a three. Also, this is going to make me post a black forest cake that is tasty and not soo sweet! Perhaps you can rewrite the recipe a bit and then get a perfect star : )

Spicy Grilled Shrimp

This is one of the better recipes for shrimp that I have found. The spices and flavor was good. I was looking for more spicey than this, but next time I will add red pepper, and more cayenne pepper. I cooked it on low broil in my oven. Turned out so moist. Leftovers were great the next day...

Ranch Dressing II

Loved it! Our family tried Uncle Dan's for Easter. We liked it so much more than Ranch bought dressing. I had to find a recipe to match and this was it. I love the dill flavor. It's soo much more than a ranch dressing and I would'nt change a thing. Thank you !

Just like mom use to make! I also left the cake in the oven for 2 minutes more and it was too long. The timing is perfect. I would just use a smaller pan so the cake will be thicker. This is the coffee cake that I had been looking for. Thank you!

Cheddar Cabbage Casserole

The recipe tasted good. But with everything put over the cabbage, the taste of the cabbage was lost. It's a meal within itself-very heavy for cabbage. My family likede it, but they wouldnt want it put on the table once a week. Great originality but not a favorite. Perhaps leave out the cabbage and add potatoes.

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake II

This was a tasty dessert. I added more peaches with its juice so it did make it a bit runny, I should have also added more gelatin. But otherwise it was gone as fast as I had made it. The family loved it.
