Best Apple Crisp Ever

Edible, but definitely NOT the best apple crisp ever. Tasted mostly like sugar, even though I used tart apples. The topping did not look anything like the photos. In my opinion the recipe calls for way too much sugar in the topping and not enough cinnamon as I thought it was bland and the topping too sweet. I should have know when I noticed that almost every other apple crisp recipe I've seen adds cinnamon in with the apples, and not just in the topping. Like I said, it was edible with a scoop of ice cream on top, but I am disappointed as I was having a hardcore preggo craving for apple crisp and this left me wishing I would have tried a different recipe. I guess I should have read the reviews first.

Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole

With recipe as written I give it 3 stars due to WAY too much pepper and a little too much salt. I honestly think 1/2 tsp pepper would be enough for this dish. Unfortunately I forgot to re-read the reviews right before making the dish. My judgement told me to put less pepper in, but then I followed the recipe because I don't like to make any alterations the first time around. As soon as I stirred it in I knew it was a mistake as the whole sauce turned from orangey-yellow to a greyish color. It was very salty as well, but I can deal with that. Changing the pepper to 1/2-1 tsp and the salt to maybe 1 tsp would make this a 5-star dish!

Herbed Citrus Chicken

Mmmm! This marinade is SO good! I made this for a bridal shower where we had a salad bar. I used olive oil and marinated the chicken overnight, then grilled and sliced it to use as a salad topping. Everyone RAVED about it and I had a lot of requests for the recipe. Next time I might try the canola oil though. I used olive oil because it was healthier, but the flavor was definitely noticeable and I'd like to see how the other flavors come out if using a less flavorful oil. This a perfect recipe for grilling!

Bacon Roll Ups II

These were awesome & sooo easy to make. I used deli rye and Philadelphia chive & onion cream cheese and they were addictive! I did turn the heat up to 400 toward the end of baking so that the bread and the bacon got pretty crispy and I thought they were perfect. My picky husband and 14-year old daughter loved them too.
