Pumpkin and Sausage Soup

Very unusual but very yummy! I used milk instead of heavy cream & reduced the butter to 2 tbs. at the end (didn't use any butter while cooking the sausage). Will make again!

Creamy Vanilla Ice Cream

Outstanding ice cream recipe! This gets rave reviews from lifelong homemade ice cream fans. Cooking takes awhile to avoid cooking the eggs too fast but it is worth it!

Holiday Brie en Croute

Wonderful! Took this to a party & all loved it. The only changes I made were using pecans (instead of almonds) and orange (marmalade) preserves instead of apricot. I'll make this again soon!

Pumpkin Bread

Wonderful, basic recipe. I liked how easy it was to make. I substituted whole wheat flour for half the all purpose (1 1/2 cups of each). I will definitely make it again!

Apple Orchard Punch

Great recipe! I've served this at several parties and it's always gone. I have used ginger ale and champagne and both are outstanding. Garnish with sliced oranges for the prettiest appearance!

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
Great recipe! I made a few changes; some as suggested by others. I first cooked about 1/2 a yellow onion (chopped) with 2 cloves of garlic in some olive oil in a dutch oven. To this, I added a little dried basil, salt, pepper, and oregano. Then, added the tomato juice. I chose to cook this on low for about 2 1/2 hours before completing it by adding the basil and pureeing. I used 1/2 and 1/2 and didn't miss the heavy cream. A new favorite!
