I've been cooking since I was 10, got started in 4-H. I collect recipes and recipe books.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are assorted pastries and desserts, especially Christmas cookies and candies but i enjoy making baked items for other holidays.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother always made these wonderful Valentine cookies, heart-shaped, with our names on them. She made them for each of our grade school classes(at one time there were four children in different grades at one time). She also made huge trays of Christmas goodies for neighbors, mailman, etc. I've tried to uphold this one favortie memory.
My cooking triumphs
Catering a dinner for the local VFW Convention, with prime rib or chicken as main course.
My cooking tragedies
One Christmas my fudge just wouldn't turn out!!
