Miller's Marinara

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
I've made this quite a few times and really wanted to like it! The base is excellent, however the huge amount of herbs used aren't to my liking. I have adjusted the ingredients based on my preference, but I prefer to rate a recipe on the way it was written without including any variations I may have made. As it is written, I give this recipe 3 stars for personal taste.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2011
I've made this recipe quite a few times and everyone loves it! The only changes I make is to use poached chicken breasts and shred them instead of the canned chicken. I also bake in the oven instead of using the crockpot and I serve the dip with tortilla chips. Will be making some for Superbowl Sunday! Thanks for the great recipe!

Herman Reunion Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
I made this for Thanksgiving and it was the hit of the party! I left out the Worcestershire, because I unfortunately didn't have any. I kept the rest of the ingredients the same, but cut down the cream cheese to one package. Everyone (including me) loved it and insists I make it for Christmas, too! Great recipe, thanks!!

Hot Spinach Red Pepper Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
This is a fantastic recipe! I love spinach dip and have been making almost the exact recipe for years! The only difference in the recipe I use is to saute the red pepper and spinach in butter instead of boiling. I can't wait to try it this way and plan to do so soon ;)

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
I am a huge soup fan (potato is my favorite!) so I am always trying out new potato soup recipes. I made this soup for my mom who lives in another state and she still (6 months later, lol) rants and raves about it! We both love this soup...I could take or leave the basil, but my mom says "it makes the soup." This is a family favorite and the only change I make is to mash instead of dice the potatoes! This is my "go to" potato soup recipe. Thanks Kristi!

White Pizza Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
Great appetizer! I couldn't find herb and garlic soup mix, so I can't remember what I used...it was either some type of garlic OR herb soup mix. This was sooo good! I also added pepperoni like another reviewer, and it was delicious! I think next time I will serve this with homemade toasted, garlic crostini. I may also whip in some cream cheese since I don't particularly care for the texture of ricotta. This has nothing to do with the recipe though, just personal preference! Excellent recipe!

Mom's Favorite Baked Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
I am not a big mac and cheese fan, but my entire family is so I am constantly on the lookout for the "perfect recipe." This was actually the first homemade mac and cheese recipe I tried out, and after atleast 10 other recipes, this is still the favorite of the fam!! It's a pretty easy recipe, with ingredients I usually have on hand. I sometimes cut down the cheese a bit (depending on who's eating), because it is super cheesy (my hubby loves this recipe as is, my kids tend to eat more when I cut down the cheese). Anyway, I've also cut out the roux mixture when I've gotten lazy, and just added cornstarch to the milk instead. Both ways are great and no one notices! The mustard I think, is fantastic in the recipe, it reallly makes the dish! My fam is also not big on crumb topping, so this is a keeper for us! Excellent mac and cheese recipe, thanks!

Spicy Slow Cooker Mac-n-Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
I just wanted to start off saying that I omitted the sausage since no one in my house is a sausage fan. Besides that, I followed the directions to a T, I stirred often, etc., but the end result was not so good. The pasta was very "glue like" and completely lost its shape, I actually had to cut into it since it was to mushy to scoop out. Unfortunately, it wasn't a hit, but I'm rating it 4 stars, because I didn't add the sausage and that may have been why this recipe didn't turn the way I expected.

Gaye's Microwave Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
My family loves this fudge recipe! I make it with my 3 and 6 year olds and they are amazed that we can "make candy in our cooker" (thats what they call the microwave, lol.) This recipe is simple, quick, and tasty. True, this is probably not a gourmet fudge recipe, but for ease, texture, overall taste, and finished product, it definitely deserves 5 stars! This is also a great starter recipe to add in your own favorite nuts, chips, etc., but my family prefers it plain. We actually plan on making a batch for our Thanksgiving dessert table this year! Thanks for the great recipe!

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
If I could give this recipe 10 stars I would! I came across this recipe while looking for a simple cookie recipe that I could make with my 6 yr old daughter. I love to cook, but I'm not big on baking and had never tried a "cake mix" cookie recipe before. These are sooo delicious and simple, I can't remember the last time I actually ate a cookie (I'm not a huge sweets fan), but I find myself sneeking in the cupboard for these! They are moist and keep for a long time just in a ziploc bag. My favorite variation is devils food cake mix, half a cup white chocolate chips, and half a cup chopped walnuts. I also add the 2 Tbs. veg oil and 1 tps. vanilla extract as suggested by other reviewers. These taste better than bakery cookies and they are the ONLY cookie that I make. Thanks for the fantastic recipe!!!

Spaghetti Sauce II

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
This sauce is very good, however, I do think the basil and oregano should be reduced. When I made it the first time as written I had to add jarred sauce to dilute the herbs. I will make this sauce again, just cut down on the herbs next time.
