About this Cook
I am always trying out new recipes and my absolute favorite thing to do is cook! Not only do I love to create delicious dishes for friends and family, but cooking "feeds my soul." Theres nothing I like better than to dig out a favorite recipe on the weekends and get to it :)
My favorite things to cook
Comfort Food! Any and all types...potatoes of any kind, mac and cheese (for my picky kids and hubby), roasts, stews, all types of soups (specifically potato soup, italian wedding, or chicken noodle) and slow cooker recipes. I also love mexican! I'm not a baker, but I'm trying to enjoy baking as much as cooking...I've always liked savory more than sweet. My 2 kids however love baking (and sweets!) so I'm always on the lookout for simple sweets to make with the little ones!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, my mother was a working mom with 3 kids so unfortunately, she didn't have much time to cook and dinner usually came pre-packaged. My love of cooking did not come from family (although I always made gingerbread men with my grandma every year). day I was browsing around on t.v. and came across the Food Network and was instantly amazed! I had never even heard of half of the ingredients used on the show. I couldn't wait to try out these new ingredients and recipes! I ran right out and bought my first cookbook and have been cooking and creating ever since. I have tried to start some new cooking traditions with my children now. We always make pie together at Thanksgiving and cookies for Christmas. DH cooks a big breakfast about twice a month and the kids love to whisk and flip with him, lol. I love to get the kids involved in hopes of creating memories for them and hoping they enjoy and appreciate food as much as I do!

Miller's Marinara
I've made this quite a few times and really wanted to like it! The base is excellent, however the huge amount of herbs used aren't to my liking. I have adjusted the ingredients based on my preference, but I prefer to rate a recipe on the way it was written without including any variations I may have made. As it is written, I give this recipe 3 stars for personal taste.

Buffalo Chicken Dip
I've made this recipe quite a few times and everyone loves it! The only changes I make is to use poached chicken breasts and shred them instead of the canned chicken. I also bake in the oven instead of using the crockpot and I serve the dip with tortilla chips. Will be making some for Superbowl Sunday! Thanks for the great recipe!

Herman Reunion Cheese Ball
I made this for Thanksgiving and it was the hit of the party! I left out the Worcestershire, because I unfortunately didn't have any. I kept the rest of the ingredients the same, but cut down the cream cheese to one package. Everyone (including me) loved it and insists I make it for Christmas, too! Great recipe, thanks!!
