Saltine Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
This so good but it can be tricky to make. I think the most important thing is to let the butter and sugar boil for a full 3 minutes and DON'T stir it. I made the mistake of stirring the mixture and it ended up extremely sticky and gooey- it could of pulled a tooth out!

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
VERY light and fluffy- which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. It was like eating diluted cool whip. It just didn't have enough substance and was not the consistancy I was looking for. The peanut butter flavor wasn't strong enough either. My son and his classmates did like it so maybe it's just not for me and my husband?

Cherry-Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2010
My family enjoyed this pie but unfortunately I did not. I'm giving it for stars based on what everyone else said. The problem I had with it was the filling. It was really thick and felt weird in my mouth. If I ever make this pie again, I'll try cutting back on the cornstarch. Also, the filling didn't have the "zing" that I prefer in cherry pies. I didn't rate this recipe down for that because it may just be the pie filling I used.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2010
A really good, moist banana bread. I added 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp of cinnamon, and a 1/4 tsp of cloves. It was the best banana bread I've ever made.

Libby's® Pumpkin Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
It was very dry and the orange flavor was overpowering. I think it deserves one star but I'll take some responsibility for this disaster and give it three.

Easy Sausage Strata

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2009
I'm giving the recipe five stars even though I didn't follow it exactly. I wondered how it would come out if I didn't let it sit for eight hours before baking so I decided to bake it right after combining all the ingredients. It was good but I think it'll be better next time if I let it sit overnight. I also added onions and green bell peppers.

Chewiest Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2009
Very fudgy and rich. A few drawbacks: bakes into a thin brownie and if you cook it even two or three minutes too long, the top and edges become very dry and crunchy.

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

The tomato and vinegar combo give the shrimp a sweet kick while the basil adds another layer of flavor. Very nice!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
Fantastic recipe! With a little seasoning as others have suggested (seasoning salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning) the flavor came out wonderful! I did need to add about one and half cups of chicken broth because it was little too thick for me. The dumplings were also really good. I added those during the last 45 minutes just to make sure they were fully cooked. I was surprised by how the cooked biscuit dough's texture was so similar to a real dumpling. I'll make this again!

Grandma's Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
I really like the flavor of the chowder. It was slightly sweet from the corn but also savory because of the bacon and onions. The potatoes were great as far as creating a nice texture and making the soup a little heartier. I would definitely make this soup again, especially on a cold winter day. Unfortunately, it was 83 degrees on the day I decided to make it for the first time!

Italian Creme Layer Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
I took this cake to work and almost everyone told me how much they loved it. Some people even went back for thirds. I'm giving it four stars because I didn't like it too much. Maybe it was the coconut I used. Does sweetened coconut make a difference in this recipe? That's all I could find. I would make this recipe again but maybe tweak it a little bit.
