About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy baking just about anything. I also love to make recipes that my family and my husband's family passes down to me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baking and decorating sugar cookies with my family for Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
I recently made shrimp dumplings. My husband thought they were really good.
My cooking tragedies
I made a Barbie doll cake for my daughter's birthday. Her skirt came out really tall and I forgot to put a wooden skewer or something to hold the layers together. The whole cake fell over in the middle of the party.

Saltine Toffee Cookies
This so good but it can be tricky to make. I think the most important thing is to let the butter and sugar boil for a full 3 minutes and DON'T stir it. I made the mistake of stirring the mixture and it ended up extremely sticky and gooey- it could of pulled a tooth out!

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie
VERY light and fluffy- which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. It was like eating diluted cool whip. It just didn't have enough substance and was not the consistancy I was looking for. The peanut butter flavor wasn't strong enough either. My son and his classmates did like it so maybe it's just not for me and my husband?

Cherry-Blueberry Pie
My family enjoyed this pie but unfortunately I did not. I'm giving it for stars based on what everyone else said. The problem I had with it was the filling. It was really thick and felt weird in my mouth. If I ever make this pie again, I'll try cutting back on the cornstarch. Also, the filling didn't have the "zing" that I prefer in cherry pies. I didn't rate this recipe down for that because it may just be the pie filling I used.
