Cream of Cauliflower Soup II

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2014
This is a good, soup. I did one cup of onion (I hat recipes that don't tell you how much). No sherry did not feel like buying it. I may try the sherry next time. I used half the salt ( less salt is important to me). Small cauliflower, and used red potatoes with skin on. No carrots (maybe next time). Loved it and will make it again. I did not give it a five because I changed it.

Grandma's Corn Bread Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
I think this is a great recipe for a beginner!!! I only used the same ingredients, in the same amounts. I only added the sage to the cornbread ( a suggestion from a friend. I added turkey necks ( something my family always did). I boiled the necks, with salt and pepper. Instead of chicken stock (Oh I guess I did change something), I used the broth from the Turkey. I took the meat off the bones, and just added it for taste. My first time making dressing. It came out moist and delicious.

Classic Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2013
I am new at this thing called coolking. I like the recipe and will try again. The only reason I did not give it four stars is the warming up of the dish. I missed the chunks you get with adding egg. I followed the recipe exactly. I am learning and this was a good first try at it. Next time I will add two eggs to get more of the dish to be chunky. The only thing I did change was turning down the temp to 350.

Leah's Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2013
I was looking for an easy recipe, this recipe fits the bill. I wanted low carb, check. I thought the soup is bland. I read the other reviews and they are all helpful and true. Next time I will add a little salt, boil the chicken first ( I did remove as much skin as possible before so my broth was pretty clear). I won't spend so much time chopping putting things in whole or chopping less was a good idea I read. I used less water and used a can of chicken broth low sodium. I did not change anything else. Overall, the recipe is simple but lacks flavor to me. I am not sure if my taste buds are ruined by salty can soup but I still like the recipe. I think it gives my beginner status room to try some other things like different seasoning. l try this again.

Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2012
I love PB so was excited to find this EASY recipes. I will make these again. I used a fork to mix and 9x13, light colored pain to keep them light. I think I just found out that dark pan cook to fast. Anywho...I thought these did not have a strong PB flavor so next time I all add more PB. I also thought they were too sweet, will use less white sugar next time but will make again...Boyfriend rated a on scale 1-10 as an 7-8, so with tweaking I think I can get a 10. Nice basic recipe to put into rotation.

Mrs. Sigg's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
I made these cookies looking for ALOT of PB flavor, I did not get that but can add to the recipe so I won't down it for that. The cookies are hard, then some gave me a trick. I wanted soft PB COOKIES, I made the cookies, the recipe is a good one, then added two sliced of bread to the bags I stored them in! The got really soft and the boyfriend considered them a home run! 10/10. Take the recipe and make it your own!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
I liked how moist the cornbread was but it was a little to sweet for me. My husband rated it a 7.5 out of 10 but to be fair we are not sweet eaters. I will make again without sure I like corn bread that is buttery and more of a corn taste. This a really good basic recipe.
