Cranberry Sauce I

I love to make my own cranberry sauce every year...this is a great and easy recipe. We like it the rest of the weekend with a little Brie on crackers too. YUM!

I made several batches of this pesto at the end of summer..I had 3 large, very vigorous basil plants and wanted to use them up. This is a tasty pesto, but too hot with the chile powder, so I omitted it and it was perfect. I also used walnuts instead of pine nuts and Brazil nuts. I froze most of it and it has kept well.

Sweet Pork for Burritos

We loved this version of pulled pork. For some menus it may need a little less brown sugar, but for mine it was perfect. Just the right amount of sweet and spicy. Will definately be making this again since we just bought half a hog.

Vanilla Ice Cream I

Loved the flavor of this recipe! I wish I could make it without all the stirring over the stove :( I prefer the custard style though so I guess I will stir. We had high humidity the day I made this and it seemed to not want to freeze.

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake

I changed this recipe slightly. I used fresh picked blueberries and doubled the amount. I baked in a 9X13 pan and omitted the layering and the nuts. I sprinkled the brown sugar on top just before baking. Much easier and just as tastey.

I made these in a hurry one evening before the kids scattered to their various practices. They were so tasty that they stuck around for more. Very easy and turn out great every time. Thanks for a great recipe.

Best Fried Green Tomatoes

This is the first time I have ever tried these. A friend from the South loves them so I always gave her my end of season green tomatoes, but this year I had so many that I decided to try them. This recipe is good. I changed a the spices a little. It was crisp and tastey. The tomatoes were a bit tart, but that wasn't because of the recipe.

Homesteader Cornbread

Made this recipe from my own stone ground corn that had been canned in 1993. My husband and I looked at three different recipes worrying that the old corn would not taste good. This one is the winner. It was fabulous.
