Chicken and Gnocchi Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2012
This was really good. I followed the directions exactly, and it tasted wonderful. I did after tasting it add a pinch of nutmeg to compliment the spinach, and grated some parmensan on top before serving it. Thanks for the recipe!

Poppy Seed Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2011
This was really good. I used my food processor to shred the chicken which made it really easy. I might add some onion next time.

Lip-smacking Popcorn Concoction

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
This was really good. I took it to a scrapbook party, and everyone asked me for the recipe. I toasted the almonds to bring out their flavor. I used a turkey roasting pan to stir everything in and used a rubber spatula. It worked out great. Just one tip, make sure you pick out the unpopped corn kernals before putting the popcorn in. They can hide really easy and be really hard to bite down on.

Garlic Roasted Chicken and Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2010
This was good. I cut the recipe in half because I only needed to feed three. I did keep the butter at 1/4 cup, because there would not have been enough to coat the pan otherwise. At the end, I took the roasted garlic out with tongs and put them through my garlic press into a bowl. I stirred it and then spread it on the chicken with a knife. I put the potatoes in the serving bowl first and put my left over garlic in the bowl and distributed it through the potatoes with a spoon then I dished up the chicken.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
Fabulous! It tasted yummy and was so pretty! This was my first apple pie, so I was clueless on how thick to cut the apples. I prayed and cut, and figured I would just bake it till the apples were done. I cut them about 1/2" thick. It was perfect for the hour baking time. They were not hard, but they did not turn into applesauce either. For other apple pie novices out there, 1/2'' worked for me. Make sure you have your pie about put together before you start your mixture. It will thicken too much if you wait too long to pour it on. I would not simmer it any longer than 5 minutes or so. Also, I would highly recommend pouring the sugar and butter mixture into a measuring cup or something that you can pour out of easily. This will give you more control when you pour it into the pie. I poured it into the holes, and then used a pastry brush to make sure it was all over the crust as well. If it is a little thick, don't worry. It all comes together in the oven. Don't be afraid of the cooking time in the oven. The time stated was perfect, and the pie did not have a burnt appearance at all. Good luck!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2010
This was really yummy. I made it for an all day scrap and I received rave reviews. I left the sugar out of the fruit. I think this could be made with any seasonal fruit. I added blueberries and peaches. You will not be disappointed if you try this one! Add on: I made this again and I put the salsa in a tupperware container that had a strainer at the bottom. This worked out great because all of the juice from the fruit went to the bottom, and the fruit was kept out of the juices. I think the container is supposed to be for berries.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
These were fantastic. I have tried many different variations of mashed potatoes and I have finally found the go to recipe. They were so easy too. I used the roasted garlic in the same amount that is listed on the recipe. You will not be disappointed with this one.

Garlic Bread Mama Rita's Way!

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
I really thought the hoagie bread was a great idea. I usally use french bread, but that is sometimes a little thick, and you get a little bread with some flavoring. This you got a lot of flavoring to compliment the bread. Also, I usually use minced garlic on my garlic bread. The roasted garlic really gave a depth to the flavor. A great recipe!

Pepperoni Penne

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
This was very good, but a little on the spicy side. If you really like spicy then you will love this dish. I followed the recipe exactly. I think the base recipe is good. I am thinking about trying salami instead of pepperoni next time.
