Bacon Water Chestnut Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
Fantastic, my go-to dish for events that require snacking. I recommend whole water chestnuts and adding a little sweet chili sauce. Also, I cooked at a little higher temp.

Spinach Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
Great base - needs something to make it interesting though. I ended up topping them with a spoonful of hummus and piece of roasted red pepper. I say bacon, feta, tomato...something...would make it a 5 star for sure!

Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
Earned every star! I opted for almonds - they turned out great. I did bake a little longer than called for - wanted to be sure they were nice and dried out.

Kids went crazy for this. Before heating I set half aside or the next day - it was even better. I recommend throwing it together the day before if you can!

Steak and Potato Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2009
This was really good. I liked the idea of mixing potato, steak, peppers, green onions with the dressing then placing it on top of of the lettuce. Although I made the salad exactly as recipe called for, next time I will add some stinky cheese and try a different dressing. Not crazy about the Caesar.

this is the best dessert i have ever made. so easy ... my in-laws were impressed and the kids thought it was great! i used 1/2 can soda and 1/2 c + 2 Tbs butter...perfect amount of goo on the bottom but not really "liquid"

Chocolate Mousse Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
This was the best pie ever. It was like eating chocolate air! We followed other reviewers -- used 1/2 bag of semi-sweet choc chips, waited for quite sometime for the melted mixture to cool, added a little vanilla to whipped cream, and was sure to FOLD in the whipped cream - not stir. The birthday club at work went crazy over this! Also....add a dollop of whipped cream just before serving!

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
I wasn't that thrilled after I pulled it all together -- it is the classic kind of flavor for mac salad. But the kids LOVED it! Who knew? They are a picky bunch, too!

Tasty Lentil Tacos

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
Wow! Filling & delish! My husband, skeptical of all things that don't contain "meat", loved them. Had to cook the lentils a little longer...and use a slotted spoon so it wouldn't be soupy.

Asian Fire Meat

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
I rarely know what to do with round steak...I can't quite get it tender enough to enjoy. This recipe helped that some - sliced paper thin. I threw a little broccoli in the marinade, too. After two hours i dumped it all in the pan, cooked it up....then pushed meat aside and thickened liquid with cornstarch to make a sauce to pour over rice. Delish.
