Whole Wheat Snickerdoodles II

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
For wheat snickerdoodles, these were pretty good. I made it, as is. Everything seems to work out well except the cinnamon flavor. The wheat over powered the cinnamon coading. These were yummy but if I want a snickerdoodle, I think it needs more cinnamon. Mayby ill try to put it in the dough as well. Great cookies, thanks.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
Pretty good for hardly no ingredients. This is not a sub. for regular pb cookies. These were too grainy with all that sugar. Way to sweet. These came out soft and gooey. I cooked them a couple of min. longer cause they looked doughy. They are good tho. I do love how small this recipe is. It makes testing out cookies much better. Im not sure if the sugar helps hold the cookies together or not, but Im definitly going to make these with considerably less sugar next time.

JELL-O Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2009
Good stuff. I used berry blue flavor. It was nice and tangy but not a best jello flavor to begin with lol. I used it cause i loved the thought of making blue popcorn. For sure, the other flavors would be awsome. This is a sticky mess when making it, So oil up your hands or use water. I also used 2 bags of 94% fat free buttered flavor popcorn for the microwave. I liked the nice buttery flavor mixed with all the sugar goodness.

Lemon Cloud Popcorn

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
This was nice and different. I followed it exactly but it was quite chewy. Like, pull out your cavity chewy. I like my popcorn soft or chrunchy. Anything in between is too much work on your mouth lol. This was super sweet and sugary but has a nice lemony flavor. I liked it but I wont make it again. I think Im gonna try the Cinnamon Popcorn II recipe and maybe melt crushed up lemon heads instead of red hots. That sounds much easier.

Play Dough Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
All the reviews dont talk much about the recipe its self...If you are looking for a good sugar cookie recipe, I would not suggest this one. These cookies had a doughie taste and not much flavor at all. My 2 year old loves sugar in all forms but she would not eat these. I cooked the first batch exactly the way it read and they came out soft and super doughie tasting. So I thought if i cooked them longer then they would taste better. I cooked the second batch and 350 for 15 mins. still didnt taste good. Third batch I cooked them at 375 for 20 mins lol, they came out crunchy(not burned, not even browned)but tasted better. If you like the way the look then try your own favorite sugar cookie recipe. These were fun to make and are more time consuming then most recipes but I thought they were easy. Im gonna make playdough cookies but use my own recipe.

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
Wow! Totally awsome nutty chewy bread. I have bad luck with bread machine bread. All the bread I make rises then sinks in the center, so I put the bread machine away in storage...untill I saw this recipe. With all the 5 star reviews, I thought, this must be a great no fail recipe. Sure enough, it was. Not only did it bake perfectly, it tasts heavenly. This is definitly gonna make great gifts. Best bread I have ever made. TY SO MUCH!!

Cinnamon Popcorn II

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
Incredible! This is definitly a very nice change to popcorn. I made it for our game night with the friends and everyone loved it! I didnt make it exactly tho. Some reviews mentioned it not being cinimony enough and it was too sticky. I used 2 microwave bags of fat free butter flavored popcorn(fat free has less flavor to it), and one 8 ounce bag of red hots. First of all, Im much to lazy to pop my own popcorn and it seems a waste to only use part of the 8 ounce bag of red hots, so i threw them all in. I cooked it on medium heat until the red hots were melted and bubbly. Then I mixed in with popcorn then baked for 15 min in a 300 degree oven. These were not sticky or chewy. Just right for me. Very awsome and looks so pretty. Thanks for the great recipe.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2009
This cake has an amazing flavor. I gave this a 4 star cause the texture didnt work for me. This was way to soft and crumbly for me. I was hoping to make my girls birthday cake with it but i couldnt get it out of the pan with out it crumbling. I didnt end up using it for her but we still gobbled it up. Very yummy. I suggest using a dark cocoa for this, it makes it really rich looking. Im not sure if this is how the cake is suppose to be but it was crumbly for me.

Chocolate Popcorn

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
This is pretty good. I will definitly make it again. I just used 2 bags of microwave popcorn and that worked perfect. Next time id like to use brown sugar, maybe a tiny bit of salt and possibly baking soda. I have a great recipe for caramel popcorn and i think adding the cocoa powder might be nice. I used dark cocoa powder which made this look like tar lol. This will be fun for holloween. I suggest using a sheet pan line with parchment paper instead of 9x13 cake pan. This helps with the unwanted extra oil and also helps dry out popcorn and crisp up more evenly.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
The worst thing about making mac and cheese dishes, is making the bechamel sauce. I didnt think this recipe was gonna work without it. This IS the best mac and cheese I have ever had. My family are VERY picky eaters and they said this was the best dinner I have ever made. I felt like Super MOM! Altho, I believe this dish does better with a little milk added.(I eyeballed it, maybe 1/4 to 1/2 cup milk) This was very simple to throw together. Thank you for the recipe.

Fantastic Black Bean Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
Not good at all. It needs more veggies. I thought it was wierd to add canned beans UNDRAINED, but I did it. I makes the chili slimey. I thought it also needed more canned tomato, maybe diced tomatoe instead of crushed. The turkey was good. Ill definitly use ground turkey next time I make chili. But I wont be makin this again. My suggestion, drain beans and add an extra can of diced tomatoes to make up for the liquid.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
Very good. My husband is a picky eater but he totally loved this. I thought it was too salty so next time I'll use low sodium soup. I cooked it exactly how the recipe says. The chicken is so tender and the smell is awsome. It made me hungry all day smelling it. Ty for the recipe

Jo-Ann's Power Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
This recipe is great. I used almonds instead of walnuts and used 1/2 cup apple sauce instead of oil. We buy the no added sugar apple sauce kid cups for the kids, so that worked great. It might have been too much apple sauce, but my bars came out chewy and kind of crispy on top. I also dont buy instant oatmeal so I used rolled oats. Im going try all kinds of ways to make these. Ty for the recipe. Very filling.

Joey's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
Wow so good. I ate so many just out of the oven. Although these are not very chewy at all. I prefer chewy cookies but the taste is so great, I can deal with the softness of this cookie. My family loved them. MY husband liked eating the dough more. Ty for the Rock Awsome recipe.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
This was good but not great. First couple of bites were good but anything more than that was too much. If i try this again I'd reduce the cream cheese a bit and use blue cheese dressing with blue cheese chunks. Definitly wont use canned chicken again. Im not sure why there would be cheddar in Buffalo chicken. It didnt do anything for the dip. TY for the post.
