Magic Cookie Bars from EAGLE BRAND®

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2011
These were awsome. I poored the milk over the top of all the ingredients and it worked great. I tried to cut into this but it was hard as rock to cut. Eating this was perfect, nice and slightly chewy.

Peach Cobbler V

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2011
My family has been making this for generations. The change that we make is that we used home canned peaches and drain most of the liquid out. Another change we make is, we have 2 tsp of baking powder to make it a bit cake like. 2 tsp of baking powder will make it cover all the peaches. It is great both ways. Some reviewers say it was a bit gooey but the way we make it, it is suppose to be that way. Its ok because there is no eggs in this recipe. We also like to add vanilla and sometimes cinnamon and nutmeg. But I guess with the pie filling you already get those spices. Great recipe.

Baked Apricot Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2011
I used this with boneless skinless chicken breasts. Turned out pretty good. The sauce is good but the chicken didnt take on the flavors very well. Next time I will marinate the chicken.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2011
I guess I am one of the few who did not like this. There was way too much sugar in this recipe. I thought it would melt away with the butter and make a caramel sauce but it didnt. The sugar just remained in the bun and made it very sweet and very grainy. This bun also does not need frosting. My family ate them but did not love them at all. The cooking time for these did not turn out for me either. They got really dark on top and under cooked in the middles. That may be do to the altitude changes but I usually do not have problems cooking as directed on recipes. These were good tasting once you got past all the sugar tho. I suggest cutting sugar in half and cooking them at lower degrees for longer time.

Cheesy Butternut Squash Pasta Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
This was great. Sweet and savory. I only had parmasan on hand so I used that and also had to add more liquid to get it thinned out for my noodles. Next time I'd like to puree it. Tastes great.

Good-Morning Banana Nut Cereal

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
This beats any hot cereal I have ever had. We made this for dinner tonight and my 4 year old loved it. I doubled this recipe and made some small changes. I used ground flax seed instead of oat bran and sunflowers instead of walnuts. I also added about 2 tsp of chia seeds for extra protein. My bananas were a little ripe with black spots but I think it added extra flavor. The quinoa doesnt cook all the way but you dont even notice with the crunchy nuts in the cereal. Very good. Awsome and Thanks for the post.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
I tasted this before I put it on the pizza and I thought this was way too sweet. I did add the anchovies. After baking this in my pizza I thought it was well balanced with my toppings. Pretty good and I will prolly make it again.

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
This tasted good. Tastes like any other fondant I've had. This was my first time making fondant. Easy ingredients but it was not easy for me to work with. I kneaded the fondant for like 20 mins and it never became "pliable". It stayed sticky. So I added more powdered sugar but couldnt not get it non sticky. So i just wraped it up and threw it in the fridge thinking that would do the trick. While it was cold i couldnt work with it. It became to hard to roll out. I ended up letting it come to room temp and rolling it out with tons more powdered sugar. After putting it on my cake I couldnt not dust off the powdered sugar. Im sure there must be tricks to making this stuff but it didnt work out for me. I will prolly make it again after more research on how to get it just right. It was fun to try something new but im definitly no professional ;)

Quinoa and Black Bean Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2011
My husband and I dont have the tolerance for spicy foods but this was really good. Just really spicy. If I could tone down the hotness then this would have so much flavor. This tasted awsome. First time cooking with quinoa and adobo chipotle peppers. They are both really good. We found this dish to be VERY filling. So careful on the serving sizes. Thanks for the post.

Honey Graham Crackers

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
This didnt taste anything like the graham crackers you get in the stores. The texture was way off too. Besides that, these taste ok. They tasted kind of doughy even tho they were crisp. Also the dough was much easier to work with when it was at room temp. Im not sure what to think about these. They have there own flavor and there own texture that I can not compare anything too. They dont even compare to a cookie. I still ate them and my kids liked them. These were just ok for me.

Cocoa Cinnamon Spread

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2011
I totally love this spread. Its like honey butter with spices. I cut the recipe down to 8 servings. I also guestimated the sugar since I have no means of measuring ounces. The only thing I dont like, is that I tend to spread this on very thick, like frosting. Not exactly the healthiest thing to do ;)

Vanilla Spice Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2011
This was good bread. I followed it exactly and my dough was way way too sticky, so I added 1/2 cup more flour. It was still pretty sticky but I thought this was how the submitter intended it to be. The bread didnt turn out real well but had a great flavor. I will make this again to see if maybe I messed something up. If not, then it definitly needs more flour.

Salmon Tango

I also baked mine at 375 for 20 min. It was a little over done but the sauce tasted great. I used apple juice instead of white wine. We like this. The left over salmon tasted great on salad. Thanks.

Parchment Salmon Packages with Asparagus

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2011
This was really good. Altho I will not put asparagus in it next time. It tasted fine but it went soggy. The skin from the salmon also stuck to the asparagus, making it hard to eat. I dont know if people usually eat the skin on fish but I definitly do not. I also had to cook mine a little longer then stated. I had to make my own pockets with parchment paper because I did not understand the "heart" technique. Dispite all my complaints, I will be making this again, and again. Very good. Thanks.
