Italian Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
This was my first attempt at bread bowls and I loved them! I will be making these again for sure. I think I may add some seasoning to the actual bread next time. Just to experiment.

The "Whiz-Wit" Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
I made this for super bowl. I used top round steak sliced very thin. This was very good. I think next time I will omit the jalapeno peppers. As suggested, I served with toasted Italian bread. Thank you for a delicious recipe.

Apple-Raisin French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
I requested something to do with my poor Golden Delicious apples and this was suggested. I made this morning for my coworkers and they gobbled it up! The only thing I changed was I used 1/4 cup butter. Will keep to make again.

Tuscan Cream Cheese Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
I made this as written. I left out the parsley and chives because I didn't have either on hand. I took it to an office pot luck and gave the recipe out several times. This makes alot. Served with the flatbread crackers.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
Very good! I made using white vinegar because that was all I had. I also used 5 thighs and 2 legs for chicken, leaving the skin on. This was a hit and I will make it again.

Bruschetta Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
This was delicious. I used Italian seasoning on my chicken instead of salt. The only thing I added was chopped baby bellas to the stuffing mix. My one mistake was I forgot the layer of cheese! I added it to the top of the dish and it was fine. I will make this one again.

Cindy's Awesome Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
This was delicious! I was so excited to find leek soup mix just to try this recipe. The only thing I did different was add a rib of celery and I used frozen hash browns because I didn't have potatoes. I will make this again, soon!

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2010
Delicious!!!! I was so worried about putting chicken, butter and seasoning in the crockpot without liquid. The smell when I got home was awesome! I added the soup, cream cheese, sliced mushrooms and a splash of milk. This was delicious!

Pasta Pomodoro

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2010
I love the light sauce of this recipe. Great way to use tomatoes from the garden. The only thing I do different is add fresh sliced mushrooms or grated zucchini. Serve with grilled shrimp is always a big hit at my house.

Very good. I don't put the crackers on top. I also add just a pinch of dried mustard. Kid friendly for sure and freezes well.

Cheeseburger Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
I used 1 1/2 lbs hamburger and frozen diced potatoes. Followed rest of recipe. I did my veggies and hamburger then threw in the crock pot with frozen hash browns on my lunch hour. I cooked the butter, flour and milk and added to crock pot with the cheese. My family really enjoyed this soup. Very filling. We changed it up just a bit with a garnish of crumbled bacon, making it bacon cheeseburger soup. Will make again for sure

Fish Fillets Italiano

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
I used blue hake fish from Schwans. My only addition was a can of mushrooms and I used chicken broth since I don't have any wine. Served over angel hair pasta since we had rice the night before. Will make again for sure!

Simple Carnitas

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
This was on my menu for new recipe night and is now going into my favorites! The only thing I did different was, after I shredded the meat I placed in a skillet with a bit of oil to "crisp" up some of the meat. I then added some of the broth back to the meat to keep it moist. Served with Mexican Rice II and fresh guac. This is a keeper!

After looking for a way to fix cod, this recipe was suggested to me. The cod was the only substitute I made and had nothing leftover. I think this is a great dish for kids, a nice way to get them to eat fish.
