About this Cook
Wife of a great man and mother of 2 grown married daughters, 2 wonderful sons-in-law, and a wonderful granddaughter. I learned to cook from my father, who is deceased, and still have my mother to help me cook! I have a great life.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook southern cooking for family and friends.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We love to eat at home on Sunday's after church with family. We try new recipes as often as we can.
My cooking triumphs
I can make a mean chocolate pie from scratch. It is everyone's favorite . I sometimes make chocolate pudding with the same recipe using vanilla wafers.
My cooking tragedies
I fixed spaghetti sauce at my aunts house when I was dating my husband. I used her iron skillet that had a little rust 'that I washed out' and my husband tells everyone I tried to kill him. LOL

Rolled Dumplings
My family loved this. Of course I tweaked it to my liking. I didn't use the baking powder. I put a half stick of butter in with the chicken broth. I also added a can of cream of chicken soup to the broth before adding the dumplings. It was yummy. Thanks to Jessica for the recipe.

White Texas Sheet Cake
I reduced this recipe in half for me and my husband. I cooked it in a 9X9 square pan. It was yummy. He is not fond of almond flavor, but I love it. Next time I will use vanilla instead for him. It is quick and easy to make. Thanks for the recipe.

Texas Sheet Cake IV
I made this recipe tonight to have for Sunday dinner. We are having a baby dedication at church for my granddaugher. It is a great recipe. I sifted all the dry ingredients together prior to starting any of the steps. There were no lumps. I also used buttermilk instead of regular milk in the batter and icing. It is scrumptuous! We had to 'taste' a piece before tomorrow. LOVE it. I will definitely make this again.
