About this Cook
I lost everything in hurricane Katrina, but I'm rebuilding my life and going to college. Life is better than ever!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook creole and cajun favorites, and I love to bake bread. I love making hors d'oeuvres for parties.
My favorite family cooking traditions
While my children were growing up, we had family night once a week, when we would rent a movie and have fondue, or hors d'oeuvres in our living room! Now that they are grown, they have fond memories of our family nights.
My cooking triumphs
I can be very creative when it comes to buffet recipes. I once made a corned beef/cheese ball without a recipe for a Christmas family get together, and there wasn't a crumb of it left. I wish I could remember how I made it! :-(
My cooking tragedies
I once put ingredients in my bread machine for a loaf of bread, which turned out as hard as a brick! I threw it away, only realizing too late that I had thrown away the paddle to the bread machine, which was stuck inside the "brick". LOL.

Spring Strawberry Spinach Salad
Fabulous flavor and beautiful color! I did add red onion and some blueberries as per other's suggestions. One afternoon, I made a large serving for my daughter and I to share. She sat at the table, and I went to finish cooking. When I came back, she had eaten the whole salad, right out of the serving bowl! It's THAT good! Thanks for posting this. :-)

Low Fat Buttermilk Ranch Dressing
Wow! Perfect! Exactly the flavor I was looking for! Thank you for posting this recipe. I left it thick, too, because I wanted it for dipping buffalo wings.
