Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2014
I have made this recipe several times and usually cook them too long and they have a burned taste to them. I thought that was just how they tasted. Made these today and was very careful not to over bake. They turned out fabulous, crispy but not burned! I used two sheet pans lined with parchment paper and baked for six minutes, rotated the pans and cooked only 6 more minutes and they are perfect! Thanks for sharing!

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
I didn't have chocoalte chips, which is why I was looking for a blondie recipe in the first place. So, I made this with walnuts and it was really good. I have made it several more times and even doubled the recipe and it has come out consistant even when doubled. This is a keeper!

White Cake Frosting I

Reviewed: May 16, 2011
WOW! This recipe for frosting is my favorite. It tastes just like my favorite bakery's frosting, maybe even better. My sister wanted a white cake with white frosting and I am not a cake fan, but I ate all the frosting off my cake! Everone at the party seemed to enjoy it as well. It is very sweet, so if you don't like a sweet frosting, then what is the point of frosting, right? I LOVE this recipe and I will use it for now on. I am thinking of making cup cakes just so I can lick the frosting off!

Devil's Food Sheet Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
I made this and it stuck in the pan and came out in puzzle pieces. I doubled the recipe and used parchment paper to line the pan and it came out perfect! I made the frosting and it was fudgy and delicious. I am not a cake fan, but everyone at the party said it was great and had seconds. Thanks for this recipe, it made my mom's new husband's birthday a success!

Sugar Peanuts

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
These peanuts are exactly what my hubby and I have been searching for! They are called "Sweet and Crunchy" if you buy them from the store. They are so simple to make; I will never have to search the stores at Christmas time for them again!! Thanks for this recipe!!!

Buttery Corn Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
My family absolutly loved this corn bread. My son said we should have it every night with dinner!! I thought it was way too sweet and it was more like cake. I like a savory corn bread. But, it was a big hit at my house! Keep in mind it is sweet!

I made this cake for my son's birthday at his request for a yellow cake. Everyone said it was very good and moist. I am not a fan of cake, but it was good to me too. This is a recipe to use if you like yellow cake!!

Japanese Ginger Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
I made this with a little less olive oil and added just a little sesame oil. It tasted AWESOME!!!! After 2 days it became very chunky and weird consistancy, but it still tasted very good. I thought maybe it was because of the oil I left out. I added more but it still stayed sort of "sepaerated" for lack of a better term. It is really thick and when I stir it it stays the same. I don't know why, but I still enjoy the flavor. I also added some rice vinegar to see if it would change the consistancy, but it hasn't. *Update* I set the dressing out of the fridge for a little bit, as a reviewer suggested to another, and it went right back to the consistancy it should be. Thanks reviewers!!! :)

Hearty Morning Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
I was surprised how good and yummy these were! Of course, I made adjustments according to what i had in my kitchen. I was out of coconut and didn't have apricots. I used 1/2 the amount of oil, I used olive oil, and added 2 single serving cups of applesauce in substitute. I also added an entire cup of chocolate chips since my sons were expecting chocolate chip muffins. Even with my subs. I felt I was giving them a healthy alternative to their regular choc. chip muffins. They didn't even flinch at the sight of the shredded carrots and I thought they gave the muffins color and character. We had them again this morning, left over from yesterday, and they were just as good. Color me surprised and in LOVE with this recipe!!!

I made this for my husband and he said it was really good!! Iused different vegis as to what I had on hand and I don't have turmeric. Let me tell you- whatever i threw in there smelled really good and I never had to add liquid> That surprised me tremendously!! I used some really OLD potatoes and my hubby said the pots. did not taste good with this. Fresh ones could have made a difference. I will make this again for hubby!!

Easy Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
This was REALLY good! I made it just as the recipe states, except I chopped up some semi sweet chocolate chips because that is what I had. It was the first time i had made icecream in a small electric churn and it turned out better than perfect. The ladies at my church sopcial requested I bring it to the next meeting! A few days later their husbands were still talking about how good their wives said my icecream was!! When I froze the little bit leftover, it seemed to get dry and crumbly, but as it thawed some it softened back up nice! I will be making this again. My whole family liked it too!!

Roasted Beets and Sauteed Beet Greens

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2013
We loved this! The vinegar added to the greens after cooking brought out a sweetness in the greens. My beets took twice as long to cook so they weren't ready with the rest of the meal, but they were so yummy.

Pat's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2013
I made his recipe and it was really delicious! I cooked fresh October beans from my local farmers market and I couldn't seem to get them right so the texture was off because of the beans that I used. The flavor of the sauce is really yummy and I also added a little bit of BBQ sauce as the men in my family put it on everything! I must mention that I also didn't use the bacon as we are vegan. I will be making this again but I won't be using the different kinds of beans as that would turn of my teenage sons. Thanks for sharing...this is a keeper!

Seafood Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
This was so good! Thanks for the recipe. I had this years ago when a neighbor made it for our"Knots Landing" party. I used 1 can of crabmeat and then steamed frozen crab legs for the red color of the meat. I think it gives a nicer presentation with the red color.

Sour Cream Coffee Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
My family loved this coffe cake! It was hard to wait for the cake to cool to drizzle the icing, so I didn't. It went on thin, but later after the cake cooled properly I spooned it back on and it covered nicely. I didn't measure the milk and powdered sugar, I just "eyeballed" it. I threw some pecans in the middle with the br. sugar and cinnamom, yummy! I plan on making this Christmas morning wen my in-laws are visiting. Thanks for posting this recipe!
