Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2015
Reminds me of the salsbury steak I used to have as a child, only better because it's homemade... I did go with the lower sodium cream of chicken soup and it was perfect. I also made it in a pan because I didn't have the time to wait for the slow cooker, I simmered it for about a half hour after adding the gravy (it didn't have to go that long). A good quick weeknight dinner and the kids loved it.

Cherry Pie Filling

Reviewed: May 26, 2015
I did not know it was so easy to make pie filling. Ok a little putzy to pit cherries, but my three year old was helping me (mostly by eating the cherries) so good quality time together. I used this for a cherry rhubarb pie. I had about a cup of extra cherries so I threw them in there and put the extra filling in a bowl to heat up for popovers. Delish:)

Rhubarb Cherry Pie

Reviewed: May 26, 2015
This recipe is awesome. I put Streusel on the top instead of pie crust. With the purchase of our house we inherited a wealth of Rhubarb plants in the yard, think the previous owner liked to can. I just wanted to find something to do with all this Rhubarb, not generally my favorite, I wanted something to take away from the tartness. I used it in conjunction with the Cherry Pie Filling Recipe from this site. I used an extra cup of cherries and had too much filling but the extra will be heated on the stove for popovers.

When I was pregnant with my son I made this every week because I craved barbeque chicken. I would have made it more often if my husband would have let me lol. I still make it regularly

Fanny's Italian Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2013
I love this recipe and use it quite often when I don't know what to make for dinner. I usually have all of the ingredients in the house. I didn't change the ingredients in the recipe at all but I do take short cuts, like I don't simmer it as long or layer it. I just add the mushroom soup to the saucepan and mix the cheese in with the noodles before pouring the sauce over the top of the noodles. I do save some cheese for the top too. It usually tastes better the second day for that reason, but I am a working mom and if I spend 2 1/2 hours cooking dinner we won't eat until 7 or 8.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
no need to change this recipe, everyone loves it. The only change I made was I cut the fat by substituting apple sauce for half the oil since my love is on a fat restricted diet.

Mama's Asian Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
My family loved this recipe, such a melody of flavors. I used chicken thighs instead of breast. I think next time I might dip the chicken in rice flour before browning it.

Pistachio Fluff Fruit Salad

This is great;) I made this late Friday night, by Monday there was barely any left after the kids got thru with it. I figure it's gotta be a healthier choice than cookies and chips. Thanks!

Whole Wheat Honey Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
I really like this recipe and I don't like wheat bread all that much, though I know it's healthier so I try to eat it. Makes great toast, and the honey makes it kind of sweet, cancels out that bitter wheat taste. I substituted one cup of bread flour for one cup of the wheat and 1/2 cup of milk for 1/2 c of the water and dry milk, because I didn't have any dry milk.
