About this Cook
Married, one son, and am a conference planner for groups ranging in size from 5 to 5,000 people for the Attorney General of California. I'm a curious mix of practical and dreamy..... My favorite activites range from looking for seashells along the tideline, travel/ explore new destinations, whitewater rafting, boating with our yacht club, gardening, reading, entertaining family and friends at home, wine tasting, Rat Pack music, croquet, picnics, 4x4 wheeling on No CA trails, camping, riding quads and girl's weekend away. But the most important thing to me is my husband who is my best friend. I love date night, get away weekends and private time with him more than anything else. After 10 years of marriage, I still love him madly, but most importantly I still like and respect him! We complement each other perfectly!
My favorite things to cook
To my family's dismay, I'll try cooking just about anything that looks interesting.....
My favorite family cooking traditions
Enjoy carrying on the traditions of my mom and grandmother's holiday meals.
My cooking triumphs
Absolutely love when a recipe turns out well....
My cooking tragedies
Don't ask - there have been a few that have been whoppers!!! :)

Big Ray's Mexican Monkey Bread
5 star recipe, though I have to admit, I had saved this recipe from junior high's home economics class (many, many, many moons ago). Easy variations are to add pepper jack cheese, sausage, bacon or ham for breakfast. Turn it in to a pizza bread by adding smoke mozzarella, pepperoni or salami. Or a veggie bread by adding a variety of vegetables. This bread is so versatile and forgiving you can add anything and it turns out well! Thanks for the memories bfr610!

Jules' Braised Beans
5 star green beans that were absolutely outstanding. I thought I had made enough for leftovers, but alas, I wandered into the kitchen the next morning to find my son standing in front of the open refrigerator door eating cold beans, one by one, for breakfast! As his mouth was full, it was all the silent testimony I needed! Thank you JulesDiner for the recipe. It's already been logged in my favorites file!

Garlic Ranch Chicken
Marinated my chicken overnight, so I was expecting more of a burst of flavor. The flavor was light and would have been perfect as an addition to a salad, but on it's own, it just didn't have enough oomph to carry it as a main course! Served with Jules Braised Beans from AR and homemade caramelized onion bread. Thank you Trudi for the opportunity to try something new.
