Real Hummus

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2012
The original posted updated to say two garlic cloves are better, so I used two large cloves from a head I just purchased... Way too garlicy! If your garlic isn't fresh or if cloves are smaller, use two. Otherwise, one is probably enough. Otherwise, the mixture is delicious. I will definitely be making many more times in the future!

Favorite Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2011
Great basic recipe. I made the original batch and added different toppings to each: Hershey's Kisses, mini Peanut Butter Cups, chocolate chips, and regular old pressed cookies. Each was slightly different, but equally delicious. Great, easy recipe!

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2010
Very tasty dish! I love spicy foods, but I found this a little hot. To reduce the tears running down my cheeks, next time I will opt for either a little more honey or a little less pepper flakes. Either way, the taste was perfect and it was simple to make! Thanks for this recipe!

Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2010
Delicious! It tasted just like the crepes I have been craving since my trip to Paris, only less greasy. I added Nutella and raspberries for that additional WOW. Fold it in half, then thirds, and wrap in parchment paper for the authentic Parisian experience. Thanks to Morley for the tip; it is imperative to mix the wet stuff before sifting in the dry or you'll be left with tons of unstirable lumps.

Cinnabun Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
these taste good, but they were completely not worth the effort! the dough was terrible to work with, falling apart when rolled out and difficult to roll up. also, chilling the dough was necessary, but as soon as you pour the warm sugar sauce on chilled dough, it solidified. i ended up with globs of sugar in some places and very little others. the rolled dough flattened on the bottom so the cookies were not very pretty, and the first batch was close to burned at 8 minutes. overall, these were tasty but mine look nothing like the ones in the picture. i will not be making these again.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

YUM! I just made these and they are delicious! I used margarine and chopped up milk chocolate Bliss bars (just what I had on hand). I can't wait to wow my boyfriend with these!

Easy Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
i loved how easy this was! i did make minor changes, but i'm giving a 5 because i'm sure it would've been even better as written. i didn't have cream and was hoping for a healthier dish, so i substituted 1% milk mixed with a tsp of flour to help thicken. i also added garlic, red pepper flakes, and italian seasoning based on my food tastes. i also served this over penne, but added shredded chicken to the sauce first for some extra heartiness. delicious!

Chicken in a Pot

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
this was delicious! i sauteed onions and garlic before adding to the tomato mixture, added a splash of red wine (as per another reviewer), and hit the sauce with red pepper flakes for a delicious kick. while these changes are personal preference, i'm sure the original recipe would be just as excellent. i plan to use my leftover sauce and rice tomorrow night with some sauteed shrimp. thanks for this new addition to my recipe box!

Less Fat Gingersnaps

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2009
these are delicious, but even more so considering how much healthier they are than 95% of desserts! i took some of the suggestions to increase the spices, and also tossed in a little vanilla. the cooking spray on the fingers tip definitely helped stop the sticking. with these minor changes, this recipe is worthy of all 5 stars. i will DEFINITELY be making these again!

Chicken and Red Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
very tasty. i decreased the amount of sugar based on reviews, and it was still plenty sweet! i also chopped up a red potato into small pieces and cooked them until fork-tender. then i tossed them right in the sauce! they soaked up some of the juice and got tender and delicious. i never would've paired chicken with a red wine sauce. thanks for the idea!
