Chicken Chipulos

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
These were good, but a bit time consuming. There are better recipes that are faster and easier than these.

Power Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
These are so good, however I reduce the amount of karo syrup and use mostly honey in its place. I also used turbinado (raw) sugar instead, and used half oats and half grapenuts. I sprinkled the top with chocolate chips. This is a filling and delicious snack bar, and so easy to make--better than power bars. I love this recipe. Thanks for sharing.

Creamy Baked Ziti

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2012
I used only a 46 oz jar of Prego mushroom spaghetti sauce and an entire block of cream cheese. This was easy, creamy, saucy, and delicious. I also made meat balls to go with it. I will add this to my regular recipe list, but will probably try fat free cream cheese and sour cream next time since it's so high in fat.

Molasses Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
These tasted much better than the gingerbread cutout recipe. The cloves really made these taste spicer than "gingerbread" cookies, sort of like the gingersnaps you buy at the store--only these are soft.

Ma Lipo's Apricot-Glazed Turkey with Roasted Onion and Shallot Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
I used a can of apricots and blended them up since I could not find the nectar. It turned out wonderfully. THe ginger has a really delicious kick to it. I used this sauce over pork tenderloin. I basted in on the pork during the last 15 minutes of baking.

Cherry Winks

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
I absolutely love these cookies, and I have made them every christmas for several years now. I am a huge chocolate fan, but these cookies beat any other cookie out there. This is a recipe from my grandmother (who got it off of a cornflakes box many many years ago). The recipe calls for shortening, but I use butter instead. I don't really eat dates, but they are the secret ingredient for this cookie. The dates make these cookies so moist. I have also found that these cookies taste even better a couple of days after baking; The last time I made these, I actually refriderated the dough for a couple of days, which made the cookies taste ever more amazing. The juices from the cherries and dates just seeped into the batter. MMM...These cookies are so amazingly good. They deserve more stars than just five.

No-Bake Peanutty Graham Treats

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
This is a pretty tasty treat. I did as another reviewer and used an icecream scoop then drizzled with chocolate. My family liked these a lot. I will probably be making these again in the future. It still did not top my all time favorite graham cereal treat though, Indoor Smores which you can probably find on this site somewhere as well.

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
I love this. I only marinated the fish for 10 min, but it was fine. I didn't have garlic clove, so I added onion powder and extra garlic salt. I added extra soy sauce as well. I'll be using this over and over again.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
If I could rate these higher I would. This recipe made THE BEST sugar cookies I have ever had. Soft, and perfect. They taste better than the big ones you buy in the store. I used an amazing frosting recipe from this site that uses karo syrup as an ingredient with almond extract. Everyone raved about these. I will definitely be making these again and keeping this in the family cookbook.

Gingerbread Boy Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
These are really good and easy to make, however I would suggest adding cloves and extra spices if you are looking for a recipe with more "snap" to it. Without frosting, these tasted a little bland.

Quick and Easy Green Chile Chicken Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
This was delicious! I sauteed the chicken in a garlic and olive oil and shredded them up. I then sauteed chopped bell peppers and onions. I tore up the tortillas into pieces, and set aside. I then mixed 1 can of cream of chicken with two cans of green enchilada sauce, 8 oz sour cream, and 1 can of green chiles. I mixed everything together and poured in a 9x12 in pan, topped with cheese and voila! Easy and so good.

Herbed Pork and Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
Absolutely delicious. This is worthy of a christmas dinner presentation. The flavors of the onions, apples, and herb/spices came together better than I could have imagined. I used apple cider from the local orchard and make a pork gravy with the drippings and extra cider juice to pour over the top. This was the best pork loin I have ever made. Yum. Yum. Yum.

Fudge Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
This was very quick and easy to put together. When I put the ingredients together, which was awesome for saving time with all of my Thanksgiving baking. I thought the batter looked like it wouldn't be enough to fill the pie, but it does rise up when you bake it (end result was about 3/4 inch thick in my 9in pie dish). You could probably double the recipe for one pie shell to make it super rich and thick. It definitely tastes like a fudgie brownie. Instead of vanilla I added 2 tblsp of Kahlua. It's not a fancy dessert, but I would make this again. I give this four stars because my family said they have preferred other pies I have made in the past to this one-- I usually make a chocolate cream pie. However, this one is much easier and faster to make than a chocolate cream pie. I would probably make it again because its tasty, fast, cheap to make, and easy. javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$ContentPlaceholder$edit$saveButton','')

Fluffy Whole Wheat Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
These turned out really good and stayed moist. They were tall, fluffy, with a very nice texture. I used all whole wheat flour instead of half all purpose like the recipe called for. I was worried they would be heavy, but they weren't. Good recipe! I think the flavor could have been better somehow...They had the slight baking soda taste that homemade biscuits sometimes have. I am new to making biscuits though. I'll probably keep testing out more recipes to tweak the flavor.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
This soup is very filling and really good. It made me feel healthy just eating it, but no flavor was sacrificed. I served this soup with some homemade cornbread on the side. This soup keeps well in the fride. I think I ate leftovers a week after I made it, and it still tasted great. I might try adding shrimp to this in the future to change it up a little.

Appetizer Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
This is the first time I have ever made my own "marinade". The marinade flavor was very delicious, but I will try to make these on a grill instead of the oven next time. I think they would have been perfect right off the grill. They became a little dry using the broiler in the oven. These were completely gone at the party I made, so everyone must have liked them too.

Argentine Meat Empanadas

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
These were a hit at a party.I added extra vinegar(red wine vinegar) for more flavor. I sauteed the onions and extra lean meat together. The raisins were a really nice addition to the mixture. These were definitely worth making.

Amatriciana

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
This is such an easy and delicious recipe to make. Its a very simple recipe, but the flavors go together nicely. I sauteed about 1/2 cup extra onions than the recipe calls for. The bacon is awesome in this! Great recipe for a poor college student.
