Burger or Hot Dog Buns

Reviewed: May 13, 2013
I didn't really care for the taste of these. I used part whole wheat flour, but there was nothing special about them...I am not sure what it was that didn't do it for me...but it just seems to be an okay recipe.

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2013
I halved the recipe for our small family and used a whole egg and butter instead of margarine. I used blackstrap molasses and whole wheat flour and they were the best gingerbread cookies I have ever had. They were soft, flavorful, and so much fun to make. The spices are perfect. These seemed to cook very fast, but I just took them out when they were still tender to the touch. Great recipe, thanks for sharing! I will be making these again. I have never seen my 2 year old eat so many of any type of cookie.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2012
I used about double the chipotle chili powder and Thai chili sauce, and estimated the bread crumbs to be about 1 to 1 1/2 cups. Very good! My husband said they were better than his favorite from Chilis.

E-Z Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2012
These were so good! I used butter milk in place of milk, added cheese, fresh pressed to the melted butter garlic, fresh chopped parsley, and a small jar of pimentos. AMAZING! If you sprinkled with garlic salt as well, they would taste very similar to red lobster biscuits, but even better. I baked them in my cast iron skillet in the oven. I will be making these again.

Mildred's Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2012
I made these in two bread pans, and froze one of the loaves. It turned out great, however it still wasn't as tasty as my dad's recipe, which uses whipping cream in the recipe. I'll try making his next time, but this was still delicious for my first time making pound cake.

Bird Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2012
These were really cute and delicious. I had a little trouble with the birds heads falling down when the rolls started to rise. With practice, I think these would look as good as some of the pictures I saw on the site. I will try to make this a new Easter tradition. Cute little chicken rolls!

Creamy Baked Ziti

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2012
I used only a 46 oz jar of Prego mushroom spaghetti sauce and an entire block of cream cheese. This was easy, creamy, saucy, and delicious. I also made meat balls to go with it. I will add this to my regular recipe list, but will probably try fat free cream cheese and sour cream next time since it's so high in fat.

Seven Layer Magic Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
I used chopped peanuts and made my own condensed milk (using milk powder, sugar, butter, hot water). This is moist, super sweet, and so delicious. I was short on the flaked coconut, but it still turned out fabulous!!! I would probably consider adding extra coconut if I had more.

Jalapeno Strawberry Jam

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
This was my first experience with making jam. This was interesting and good, and I served it with crackers and cream cheese. However my friends mother used to make the most amazing strawberry jelly/jam in the world. I don't know if the quality of the jelly has something to do with the berries themselves, or the sugar, or pectin, but I am still searching for something as sweet and thick as her jelly/jam. Her strawberries seemed to be more in tact that mine were in this recipe.

Coconut (Haupia) and Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
This is very good, but I found that the pie was a little too thick for my taste. It's just a different type of pie. I enjoyed it, and it was very fast to make, however I am used to the good old fashioned chocolate cream pie. I will probably stick to that, but this was still very fun and easy to make!

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
Healthy and delicious! I loved the spinach as an addition. I had made lentil soup many times before, but never with spinach. I had left overs the next day...and to stretch it I added some mini bow tie pasta and extra chicken broth and spinach. It was also delicious and cheap to make.

Quick and Easy Green Chile Chicken Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
This was delicious! I sauteed the chicken in a garlic and olive oil and shredded them up. I then sauteed chopped bell peppers and onions. I tore up the tortillas into pieces, and set aside. I then mixed 1 can of cream of chicken with two cans of green enchilada sauce, 8 oz sour cream, and 1 can of green chiles. I mixed everything together and poured in a 9x12 in pan, topped with cheese and voila! Easy and so good.

Colleen's Potato Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
These were really good. Light and fluffy, but I would not say they have the same flakiness as the ones you buy in the store. Still, they made amazing, very tender rolls. I used part of the dough to make cinnamon rolls which turned out fabulous as well. I would make these again.

Herbed Pork and Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
Absolutely delicious. This is worthy of a christmas dinner presentation. The flavors of the onions, apples, and herb/spices came together better than I could have imagined. I used apple cider from the local orchard and make a pork gravy with the drippings and extra cider juice to pour over the top. This was the best pork loin I have ever made. Yum. Yum. Yum.

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
I love this. I only marinated the fish for 10 min, but it was fine. I didn't have garlic clove, so I added onion powder and extra garlic salt. I added extra soy sauce as well. I'll be using this over and over again.
