About this Cook
I'm the mom to two college kids, I work full time as a project manager in Computer Information Technology, and I do Home Wine Tasting Events with the Traveling Vineyard. I LOVE learning everything I can about the Tudors, especially Elizabeth I. I enjoy cooking when my family loves what I cook - and I've learned what they love, so in general, cooking is a good thing. :) I make jewelry and I enjoy classical and celtic music. My husband is my biggest fan no matter what I'm doing - so I'm very lucky. :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite traditions are around Easter and Christmas. At Easter, all the women in my family gather on Good Friday and make pierogies, galomkie, kielbasa, and borscht in the old fashioned Polish ways. And at Christmas, I get to make my special SLOW Roasted Roast Beef with roasted potatoes and Yorkshire puddings. I look forward all year to these two holidays.
My cooking triumphs
The second Christmas I made my famous roast with Yorkshire puddings, I had guests from the UK over. They all said that they wished their mom could cook Yorkshire puddings like the ones I made. It was definitely a triumph!

Debbie's Ultimate Mushroom Dish
I had some mushrooms to use up and no one in the house likes them except me. So, I made a teeny version of this - oh, my is it delicious! I used olive oil instead of butter to saute the shrooms, and it was only one layer; I made the recipe just as it's written in that single layer, but sprayed olive oil over the top instead of butter. I'll be making this many more times!!
