fantastic taste, especially with the "real sangria" wine from the store. gets even better as the fruit sits in the pitcher. Yum!

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
Great bruschetta! it got rave reviews from my guests, i made it as directed except i brushed olive oil, garlic powder and parmesan cheese onto the bread and baked for 5 minutes on 400. then used the crisp garlic toasts to dip into the tomato mixture. i didnt have mozzarella at the time. either way the tomatoes taste fantastic, just dont forget the sun dried tomatoes in oil.(i measured them then blended in my magic bullet till they were finely blended then mixed with the rest of the recipe.) YUM!

Super Bowl Bites

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
WOW, these are awesome, i followed others suggestions and pressed and pre cooked hamburger mixture into 9x13 pan, cooked at 350 for 25 minutes then cut into 18 squares (because they shrank so much) i used 1.19 lbs of ground round and followed the original directions for 8 oz shredded cheddar and 1 pkg dry onion soup mix and TBS mayo . after the meat mixture was cooked and cut i split the rolls and placed the square piece of hamburger into the rolls. and then wrapped the whole bunch of them in double wrapped tin foil and placed them back in oven at 250 to warm and steam the rolls.. the only problem is they stuck a bit to the bottom of the tin foil.. the taste was amazing served them with baked french fries II

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
honestly the only thing ive ever made in a crock pot that had a GREAT taste. the only thing i did different was to use all 3 cups of beef broth instead of water. i omitted the salt as suggested because of the beef broth. any way it smelled great and tasted great even the next day. i couldnt slice the meat so it ended up shredded but everybody loved it. i would make this again and again and i live in chicago, easily comparable to portillos!!!

Scrumptious Salisbury Steak in Mushroom Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
very good, more like country fried steak taste. i didnt exactly measure anything i used one small onion, diced, a handful of ritz crackers which i crushed by hand. i dont like mushrooms so i eliminated them completely. made the gravy out of the minimal pan drippings butter flour and milk, bullion etc just like the recipe states. i also added a little extra salt and pepper. at first i thought the gravy was tasteless, but after the steaks went back in to cook in the gravy for 10 minutes it was wonderful. my family couldnt get over how good it was.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
These muffins were surprisingly fluffy, moist and very tasty. I substituted 1/3 cup oil for the butter as suggested by other reviews, I added 1 tsp of vanilla to batter, and about a 1/2 cup of walnuts. in addition, i added 1/8 cup crushed walnuts to the topping mix and put on top of muffins with 5 minutes remaining. This recipe made 6 jumbo muffins that were cooked at 20 minutes. very good and very pretty to look at!!!!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
This is a very good soup!!! I followed the directions except for a few previously mentioned changes. 1. i substituted water in recipe with chicken broth. 2. I also used 3 frozen boxed chicken breasts and shredded them toward the end of cooking time. 3. I just crumbled tostitos on top. 4. I added rice to the bowl as i served it. 5. I added black beans Overall it was amazing, wasn't salty at all and it smells great.

What a Great recipe! I followed others advice to double the marinade. I actually forgot to add the oil and just poured a little in each marinade bag, hoping for the best. It turned out great!!! I will definitely make this again but I'll probably add all the ingredients next time ha ha.

Chef John's Granola

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2014
I was shocked at how good this recipe was when I Meade it minus the nuts and minus the fruit. The flavor was great. I actually doubled the ingredients except for the sugar, in addition to omitting the nuts and fruit. I cooked it in 2 trays and it was done in under and hour. I'm sure the original recipe was fantastic but I needed to bring it to a party where nut allergies are a problem. Overall great recipe.
