About this Cook
When it comes to cooking I enjoy pleasing the palettes of friends, family and mostly my boyfriend Dallas. I most love making him sandwiches, and for Dallas, the spicier the better! And I mean spicy! My late mom was an inspiration for my love of cooking, not to mention she had the answer for every question I asked regardless of the recipe. I rarely make a bad dish- but I've been known to burn and overcook! Oh well, never stop trying.
My favorite things to cook
As I mentioned before, I love to make sandwiches- and that can involve a breadth of veggies, an oven or a saute pan. This also includes wraps. I never make the same sammy. Pasta is always fun. My first and only time I made lasagna it was vegetarian and I even made the sauce from scratch. It was soooo good I'm afraid to try and recreate it! Also, I make the best slow cooker ribs. Lastly, I've com to like creating chili. So many ways to make it, and it's pretty easy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hmmm, family traditions? My mom made a mean turkey dinner, never a dry bird, the best stuffing too. Tough to recreate but I try every year. Goulash was a great dinner. My dad is a whiz with the barbeque too- I am not. Even sandwiches! Fresh cheese, bread and meat from the market on Saturdays....now I'm craving just thinking of them! Basically, our family ate well, relatively healthy, and always YUMMY!
My cooking triumphs
I'll have to mention that lasagna again. SOOOO good! The fact I can gather rave reviews just from sandwiches alone is pretty fun. Mastering the art of kick slow cooker ribs that melt in your mouth. And the easiest bruschetta pasta I created out of next to no ingredients. So far, every turkey dinner I've made has not flopped! No dry birds! And I've just learned the trick to scrambled eggs or omelets is whipping lots of air into the egg mixture! Creamed spinach that's sinfully tasty. And I'm working on my seafood skills too.
My cooking tragedies
Tragedies- I've had soggy stuffing, very sad. I've burned lotsa stuff. Overcooked rice pasta. Pretty good so far!
