Shrimp-Topped Red Snapper

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
Good, not great. I will probably not make this recipe again. The shrimp with the snapper was too much. The mushroom overwhelmed the taste of the snapper as well.

Best Guacamole

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
Great!!! There seemed to be a little too much lemon and I didn't use the entirety of what the recipe called for. I also only used about 1/2 the amount of oil. It was an instant hit!

Seven Layer Tex Mex Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
Excelente! I read other reviews and took advice on swapping cream cheese in place of mayo. It was amazing. I wouldn't change anything else...except for making more next time!

Maravillosa! Next time I will cut back on the lime, but I will not change anything else...except for making a larger portion!

Rich Pasta for the Poor Kitchen

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
Mixed opinions in my house. I liked it, but my husband said he would not have this again. We brainstormed and determined that maybe dried tomatoes and lemon zestt could add a little more to this. We love garlic and this was too much. We also didn't have fresh parsley and used dried. It definitely needs to be fresh. Thanks.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
As everyone else said, this recipe was great. My husband and I even messed up on a measurement and used milk instead of half and half and we will be making this again. Thanks.

Fruit Pizza I

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
My family and I did not like this dish. The dough tasted off, the cream cheese "frosting" was okay and we used kiwi and strawberry. The strawberry was all right, but the kiwi tasted awful with this one. Surprised becuase a lot of reviews were good.

Stuffed Pork Chops III

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
Great porkchops. They were moist, full of flavor and looked 5 star restaurant quality to boot. I sauteed the onions the second time and it didn't change flavor. I didn't make gravy, but next time I will as these are a little dry. However, I used a can of beef broth and it will not be enough for gravy. I will take someones previous advice of adding sherry wine or red wine. Thanks for such a wonderful recipe.

Salmon with Dill

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
Absolutely delicious. We used others advice and added garlic powder(and therefore cut onion powder in half.) We realized after we started we didn't have lemons on hand and we don't like tartar sauce...and the dish was still remarkable. It was easy and will be fun to play with. And some others said that 10-15 minutes was enough time. However, we live in high altitudes and checked from 10 minutes beyond. It took the entire 25 minutes to cook. Thanks for a great recipe!

Cabbage Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
Great soup. We added more vegetables. The soup needed a lot more flavoring. We added a lot (way too much) of salt. Next time we make this, we are going to use chicken stock or vegetable stock. Thanks for the recipe.

Alice's Sour Cream Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
This was good, but needs additional flavor. I had half the sour cream requirements, so I added a few oz. of cream cheese. I also used mozzarella and parmesan, added minced garlic, onion powder, garlic salt and tripled the lemon pepper. I used prior cooks' advice to brown the chicken in a skillet. However, I diced the chicken prior to browning it. Delicious. I will make this again and experiment with flavors.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
4.5 stars between hubby and I. He said it was fantastic. However, I feel like it lacked flavor. I made it just as the recipe called for. Next time I will take others advice and use a deep dish pie crust. I won't do the egg wash and it made it gooey and fell in the center before I could fill it. I will also add potatoes. My three year old had seconds! So this will be in rotation for our chilly seasons.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
Mixed reviews at my house. My husband loved the dish. My three year old didn't eat much of it and I had to force myself to swallow it. I was very disappointed. I will never make this again. Had it not been for my husband (who will eat anything) liking it, I would rate this a 1.

Golden Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
Way too much sauce for my liking. The mushroom soup was too overpowering. My husband liked it (again, he'll eat anything). My three year old and I, however, did not finish what we served ourselves. I am rating it a four, because my husband thought it to be delicious.

Chicken Chimichangas

Really good. Would prefer to have more flavor inside, but it is a great mild flavor for children. My three year old and my three year old niece devoured them.

YUMMY! I am going to add a little more salt, or garlic...something next time to give a little extra oomph. But this was great. I will definitely make this again.
