Baked French Fries II

Reviewed: May 8, 2014
Followed recipe exactly. Surprisingly simple and tasty. Was not expecting this recipe to be good, but it turned out way better than I thought.

BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2013
Consistency is watery in my opinion, so dont expect a thick gloppy sauce like in a commercial bottle of bbq sauce. With that said, this is a great recipe if you do not have bbq sauce at home. The ingredients is simple and straight forward. It certainly takes less than 10 minutes to make per the instructions. Quick to whip up and Id say with 90% certainly with common cooking ingredients found at home. Thats why it gets a 4 out of 5. Flavor wise its decent, is a good sauce, not excellent or amazing, but better than average.

Crazy Cake

Reviewed: May 30, 2012
This is a solid recipe. I just baked this one, and is cooling on my living room table. This is quite a soft cake without any eggs. This has to be because of the oil, baking soda, and vinegar. I followed the ingredient list exactly and instructions. The flavor is quite good, although, I felt it was not chocolately enough with 1/2 cup of cocoa. It very well could be the powder im using, but I dont think so. This is a solid cake recipe. One thing to note, when making, when you add the liquid, and start mixing it will seem pretty liquid like. After some time, it will thicken up turning into the consistency of a normal cake batter. Dont worry if it seems too wet at the beginning of the mix process.

Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
Congratulations!! You nearly replicated the Spaghetti O in a can sauce. It tastes nearly like it. Cooked it exactly to spec. The color is off, but still almost tastes like it. Cooked it multiple times, Recommend it.

Chewy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
Followed this recipe to the LETTER. Batter was runny. Could not form dough. I suspect the mix had too much liquid from 1 1/4 cups of margarine, 2 eggs, and 2 tsp of vanilla as noted in the recipe. Caution following the ingredient list. Attempted to fix liquid proportions by adding 1 cup of flour. Mix was still too liquid like. Avoid this recipe unless your a veteran baker who can adjust the proportions.

Pinto Bean Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
Average chili recipe. Better than canned hormel, but not as good as stagg's canned chili. This chili is very average. Its almost like a base to modify off of. Im sure it would taste better if it was modified, but I cooked it as the recipe stated. The heat was great for me, but I think the chili amount might have other people gasping for water. So, if you cant handle hot, back off on the amount of chili powder. I thought it was just the right amount of meat to bean ratio. Just enough meat in my bowl for the amount of beans. Thickness came out right too. Not too watery, and not too dry. This is a fair recipe.

Baked Tofu Bites

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
I have the dish right in front of me right now. Followed the instructions to the letter. Im not sure how this recipe gets a high rating. The liquid smoke adds to the smell, not so much to the flavor. I was rather disappointed in it. Its not absolutely horrid. Its edible. The taste flavor of the combine ingredients sweetened up the tofu. Combined with the rest of the ingredients, gave it a flavor (takes another bite) thats unique. The sesame seeds gave it a little extra crunch, but couldnt save how not so good this recipe is. Its a little sour due to the vinegar. (takes another bite) Ok Im done, i cant eat anymore. Its going straight to fido.
