Married 26 years, 2 children [son, 23 & daughter, 19], 1 daughter-in-law, and a 5-month-old granddaughter, Rebecca who is already a Saint in Heaven [SIDS, 12/17/08]. Have owned my at-home business for over 8 years now. Husband is an engineer and loves to use his smoker [black, ceramic oval type] and his woodworking shop in our basement [very talented may I add on both counts]. We love to travel and of course, try new foods wherever we may be.
My favorite things to cook
Pasta, desserts both chilled and baked, easy candy making [no candy thermometer required] for all occasions [and even when there is no "occasion"]!
My favorite family cooking traditions
"Football" foods - both snacking type and meal type, entertaining friends with cookouts and/or potluck style.
Traditional Thanksgiving Turkey and all the sides. Easter ham and cookouts for all the summer [and sometimes other] holidays! Our immediate family enjoys Traditional Christmas Dinner of Stuffed Cornish Hens. For at home casual snacking we love regular popped corn - not made in the microwave [healthier, too, even if we add our own butter].
My cooking triumphs
Let me think about this one and add later. Now don't get me wrong, it's not that I can't think of any. It's just that I want to remain humble for now.
My cooking tragedies
Oh my - after all these years, I'm not sure 1000 characters is enough. But after all, those things are how we learn!
