Nope! I'm Not Going To Do It.

There is a lot that I am just bursting to say. But sometimes the better part of valor is to stop bumping the gums. I truly respect each of you, even those with whom I vehemently disagree politically and scientifically. I'm old enough to realize that facts and figures come and go, and the truth is rarely revealed through them. To those of us who are offensive in our speech, stop being offensive. To those who are a tiny bit too sensitive, pull up yer Dora panties! Voltaire supposedly said, "The perfect is the enemy of the good." I think there is something profound in that, and it applies to the situation, but I am both too stupid and too tired to figger it out. So I am toddling off to bed hoping that all y'all still like me come the morning!

BTW AR. I still can't seem to post photos, or tag my blog. It's been a really long time. Please fix this before I make good on my promise to not throw good money down the toidy! Thanks!

You know I still like you and thank you.

Hey! I know you guys still like me. I mean, what's not to like? *ducks*

Mauigirl, I am confused by your confusion. Eschew obfuscation and clarify your question! :)

Doc - put on your big boy panties on and speak your mind.

Hi Doc, we are working on the photo upload! Thanks for continuing to blog!

I feel your pain my friend. The blogs don't have pictures, they don't have tags and they no longer appear on the Front Page. You have to know the Double Secret Click password to even find them hidden in The Buzz. I want to write. I like to write. I just find it very frsutrating to try and write here anymore.

Hey Doc! One of the things I love about AR is the different opinions and perspectives. The name calling, not so much. Please don't give up on the blog, you really write well!

Guess I am a little dense cuz I didn't get your drift. Thanks for the blog though :)

For clarification, I was very tired when I wrote that. I think what I am trying to say is that it is sad that sometimes people express themselves in hurtful ways over, what I consider to be, slightly silly issues. The event that brought this blog post about was the Mazolaoid (did I spell that made up word right?) comment from Raedwulf. I have had positive interaction with him in the past, and, frankly, his choice of words took me aback. I don't think anyone, in this case, was being overly sensitive. Not quite sure where the Dora panties comment came from apart from weariness. I have noticed thin skins, often just underneath my own clothing! Mauigirl, you are not dense, but I think my brother best described my writing style as cryptic. Sometimes, there is just no apparent sense to it!

AllrecipesElizabeth, thanks for commenting. I feel better knowing that someone at least knows that I am a bit miffed (and certainly not at you). It just seems that the blog section has been sort of semi-functional for a long time now. Business decisions are difficult, and rarely please everyone involved. If the blogs are made more functional, that would be awesome for many of us. If the blogs become the ugly child that even a mother can't love, well, I can understand that. To give blogging a boost though, greater functionality would increase the usefulness for the Ambassadors program. I honestly don't see a problem using blogs to highlight the products of companies that help to pay the bills, especially when the Ambassadors can opt out in cases where they feel conflicted.

Doug! Where have you been? I never found out if the apple was good and crisp. How was that first one? I really miss your blog. You have a very unique style of writing, and I love your humor. But I do understand the frustration.

Thank you BSM. I love differing opinion too. It's not that I'm up for a good fight. It's more that I don't understand how I can have an opinion if I don't hear the other person's view. The name calling is bothersome. It's hurtful. But more than that, it is a door slammed, locked and nailed shut against further discussion. I guess my thing is using sarcasm when I am hurt or irritated. I need to work on that.

No worries here Doc just didn't understand your post. Love your chicken though :) I need to make that again soon!!! YUM!

Doc, I love hearing about your cooking adventures and about your family, so keep it coming, OK? I think we are on the same page about playing nice! I'd rather have a nice time with my friends than insist on my own way and be alone.

Hey Doc! All I can say is welcome back!

About Me
I'm old and smelly, kinda like a really good salami with that really nice white mould all over it.
My favorite things to cook
Meat, carbs, meat, carbs, meat, carbs and did I mention meat?
My favorite family cooking traditions
Drop a plate of Pierogis and sausages in front of me and watch my eyes glaze over in pure joy.
My cooking triumphs
Schweinebraten mit Knoedel und Krautsalat. Also Edel Hirsch Gulasch was very nice. I make killer Spaetzle and Knockerl also.
My cooking tragedies
There aren't enough electrons in cyberspace! :) Actually, the tragedies usually involve well intentioned creativity out of control.
