I like to save money by not buying pre-packaged convenience foods. I almost never buy anything if it's not on sale. I love simple recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I love to discover/create gluten-free, low-carb recipes, as that is my diet. My son has a problem with casein, and dairy-free is much more challenging.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We like to entertain, though we don't do it nearly enough due to peoples' busy schedules.
My cooking triumphs
I am pretty good at whipping stuff up off-the-cuff. I love to do this when we are tempted to go out to eat...then as we're enjoying a healthier yummy homemade meal I think, "Wow, we just saved $30!"
My cooking tragedies
I have made some pretty brick-ish bread in my day.

Roasted Pork Loin
This was so good! Though I have been cooking many years, I am usually afraid to roast meat as it is so easy to overcook. Juicy and delicious, and so easy. My family loved it!

Tofu Cheesecake
Based on previous reviews: I cut the sugar to 3/4 c., tripled the amount of vanilla, added 2 eggs and 2 T tapioca flour. I got it smooth using a hand blender. It took a little over an hour to bake. Pretty good, but needed strawberry topping to hide the slight tofu flavor. My picky dairy-free son did like it, and he LOVES (and misses) real cheesecake, so thank you!

Pecan Pie V
Great recipe--thanks! I reduced the brown sugar to 3/4 c. and baked at 350 the first 15 min., then 300 for 50 min. as others suggested. Perfect and so yummy! (I always cover the crust edges with tin foil til the last 10-15 min.) I used almond milk and ap gf flour and it was fine.
