Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
Excellent recipe! I used 1/2 cup melted butter for the crust instead of 1/3, and 1/2 c sugar instead of 1 c sugar for the topping and it was still very sweet. I also recommend either halving the crust or doubling the filling, and adding twice the lemon juice and lemon extract. WATCH THIS CAREFULLY while it bakes - very easy to overbake. Use minimal oven times.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
What a great, easy, fun recipe! I used a pkg of milk chocolate chips and almost 1 T of shortening. I melted the shortening in the microwave for about 30 seconds to melt it, then added the chocolate chips. I cooked it on 70% power for 1 minute then stirred it and it was perfect. I loved the toothpick on styrofoam idea! I used the leftover chocolate to dip animal crackers for the kids. Thanks for this recipe!

Dump Cake IV

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
This is a great recipe! My mom used to make this for me when I was little (without the pineapple), and sometimes she would use blueberry pie filling instead of cherry filling. I don't recommend using a metal 9X13 pan if you plan to store the leftovers in the pan - the acids in the pineapple start to corrode the pan! Use a 9X13 glass baking dish instead. Great recipe!

Party Punch VI

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
I made this for my daughter's Valentine's Day party yesterday and it was a HIT! Very good, easy, and fun. We put heart shaped ice cubes in each cup. The proportions of the three ingredients don't have to be exact. It would be good even without the fruit punch!

Guacamole

Loved this! If you like it spicy, I would use a LOT of cayenne pepper. Don't be afraid to use the entire juice of the lime. The salt cuts it. Thank you Bob Cody!

Excellent as is! Even good when it cools down and sits on an appetizer table for a while.

Strawberry Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
Loved this! I would use more frozen strawberries, and I had to increase the baking time by about 10 minutes. I used a previous suggestion to put the whipped cream cream cheese frosting on top (on allrecipes.com) and then I topped it with quartered fresh strawberries. It was a hit!

Caesar Salad I

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
My husband made this salad and it was the first time he "coddled" an egg! It was EXCELLENT! Even my sister-in-law who said she did not like anchovies loved this salad. It is almost exactly what you would get if you ordered a Caesar salad at a gourmet restaurant. Great salad!

Very easy and yummy! This is one of my favorites. I could even eat it without the fruit! :)

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
This is a great recipe, as is! There is plenty of extra wine cream sauce in the pan after you pour it over the chicken. I put it in a gravy boat and let my guests pour more over their chicken as they desire. Don't over cook the chicken. 30 minutes of simmering is plenty!

Adam's Dirt Cookies

Great cookies. Similar to Nestle Toll House Cookies. Next time I will try 3 c double stuffed Oreos (or maybe one whole package). 1 t salt is way too much for my taste! Next time I will use 1/4 t. My kids love this!

Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
This salad is wonderful! I fried 6 pieces of bacon and threw out any fatty pieces as I was crumbling them. Next time I'll try smoked bacon. I used red grapes (sweeter and more colorful). I was afraid to use ginger, but it really made it perfect. Thanks Cathy!

Red Velvet Cake IV

Wonderful cake "as-is". I did not add any food coloring. We are generally trying to avoid artificial ingredients - why intentionally add this to a perfectly good home-made cake? Thanks for this recipe!

Easy Mexican Casserole

My Family LOVED this. This will be a frequently prepared family dinner. Even my picky kids gobbled it up. I used whole grain tortilla chips. Even re-heated it was excellent! No changes necessary. Very easy, too!

Orange Gelatin Salad

Reviewed: May 11, 2010
This is a great salad, especially for kids - and very easy/ quick to make. The second time I made it I used a large can of mandarin oranges and a large can of pineapple. I also used about half of the Cool Whip and it was PERFECT! Thanks for the recipe!

Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
These cookies are VERY easy to make, and require few ingredients - wonderful for busy moms like me! However, there really isn't much "substance" to these cookies. They are too sweet and not very chewy. Imagine eating peanut butter and sugar together - good for one small bite! :) Thanks, but I'm going to try a few others!

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
This was very good! It was a bit salty for my taste (condensed soup and dressing mix are both very high in sodium). Next time I might not add the entire package of dressing mix - either that or double the recipe and still only use 1 pkg of dressing mix. I would be willing to try low sodium soup next time, or add some milk to thin it out some. I used cream of mushroom soup and it was very good. Sauteed or canned mushrooms would be a great addition to this recipe! Thanks for sharing this!
