I learned to cook and bake from my mother. I was born in Ohio, but raised in Oklahoma. I work in food service, and cook, bake and cater little jobs on the side. I am working on finding a commercial kitchen so I can get a catering permit. I love to bake bread and cakes. I am always looking for new recipes, and I almost never stick to a recipe-I always have to change it. Every year I make thumbprint cookies from a family recipe at Christmas. Every halloween I have a party, some years small, some years large,and I have great "gross" Halloween recipes. I catered an 80th birthday party for the mother of a close co-worker. This co-worker is greate, but VERY picky and I was SO nervous. I made her cry (the happy kind of cry!). The guests took pictures of the food and the table arrangements. I tried to take a short cut making gingerbread men and women out of store bought sugar cookie dough for my daughter's class to decorate. The turned into blobs and I had to buy store bought cookies because it was 1:00 a.m. and I was exhausted. I was EMBARRASSED!
