Blue Cheese Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
This dressing is so delicious. I use it as a salad dressing and dipping sauce. I think the trick is to mince the onion and garlic really fine so you won't get a big chunk of either when you taste it. I don't use the lemon juice. I used balsamic vinegar and it really added a nice touch. I also use a lot more blue cheese than the recipe calls for.

Tangy Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
My family loved this! The glaze is what made it. I followed another reviewer's advice and put the ham in a bag with the glaze. After 2 hours I opened the top of the bag and basted the ham with the glaze every ten minutes for another 1/2 hour. It turned out tender and juicy. The next morning, I had hungry teenaged boys that had slept over and put the ham and glaze in a pan and carmelized the sauce. They ate it all!

Chow Mein Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
My husband says I should definitely make this one again. I agree. I didn't have almonds on hand, so I toasted some sesame seeds. We really liked that flavor. Other than that, I made no changes. I did cook it about 1/2 hour longer, because we like the noodles on top browned and crispy.

Baby Blue Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
What a hit at my niece's baby shower! She loved the fact that we had used the baby ducks as shown in the picture. The punch really looks like a blue sky with white clouds, and the taste was amazing!

Great-Aunt Nina's Noodles and Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
I didn't use a slow cooker. My husband asked me to make some soup that he could bring to feed his hunting buddies. I used a large stock pot and sauted the carrots, celery and onion until they were tender. I added lots of garlic power, parsley, poultry seasoning and thyme to the vegies. Then I poured in 2 quarts of chicken stock and added 4 more cups of water with 4 bouillon cubes. I used 2 rotisserie chickens from the store. I did make the homemade noodles, and they really made the difference. My family loved it! My husband made us hold back so he could bring the rest up north. The guys all asked for the recipe to bring home!

Beer Cheese Philly Steak Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
Wow! My teenage son is the pickiest eater, and loved this dish. I used artisan bread, cut it into cubes, sprayed the cubes with butter flavored oil and sprinkled garlic powder over it all. I then baked the cubes for about 20 minutes. I didn't have green peppers, so I used red and I'm glad I did. I also used 3 pounds of ribeye steak that I had just bought. Everyone loved the slightly sweet flavor. The cheese sauce absolutely made the dish. Leftovers heated up well the next day. I will be making this again!

Pea 'n' Cheese Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
Using radishes was a great idea. I rarely cook with radishes so was excited to try this. It was fantastic! I didn't have cheddar cheese on hand, so I used cubed mozarella. My family gobbled it up and loved the dressing.

Superior Shores Slaw

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
I made this for a family party and it was terrific! My family loved the addition of bacon. The slaw was sweet, but that's the way we like it. I'll make this many times with absolutely no changes!

All Day Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
I made this for a pot luck and it turned out great! I used about a cup of chopped Velveeta cheese to make it creamy and also used the cheddar for flavor. I didn't precook the noodles and it was ready in 3 hours after cooking on low. I also added onion and garlic that I had cooked on the stove in olive oil and butter for that extra oomph.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
I made my own dumplings but followed the rest of the recipe pretty closely. My kids loved it and asked me if I could make it again the next day!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
Unbelievable! My husband was in heaven. He has never had a homemade chicken pot pie before - just the kind from the frozen food section. He says I've spoiled him now and won't eat any frozen ones again!
