Cucumber Sandwiches III

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
Superb! I used whipped cream cheese because that is what I had on hand and cut the mayo in half. Awesome!

Broccoli Cheese Soup III

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
I had made another highly rated broccoli cheese soup from this website that was made with imitation cheese. The recipe was really great but I wanted to try a recipe with real cheese. (I'm not a big fan of putting lab created foods into my body) Anyway this recipe is just as great if not better! I did of course make a couple changes, I used frozen broccoli because it was on sale that day, and the last couple minutes while it simmered in the broth I tossed in about a cup of matchstick carrots. Delish! Also, After whisking the milk (I use 1%)and soup together, I then whisked the corn starch into the milk/soup mixture. I never used the 1/2 cup of water as other reviwers suggested there was too much liquid in the soup. I used a finely shredded bag of sharp cheddar (I highly reccomend this flavor!) and it melted beautifully into the soup. A little salt and pepper and voila! This came out perfect and delicious!

Oatmeal Pancakes II

Reviewed: May 25, 2009
Wow! These pancakes are aweseome! I substituted 1% milk for the buttermilk which worked out just fine. I also added a whole banana (which I probably should have only added half of one--it made the pancake texture as if it wasn't cooked all the way through--my fault, but they were still tasty!) The recipe does make a small batch, so if cooking for more than two people, definitely double or triple the recipe. And try adding the banana! (half of one for each single batch is my suggestion) Yummy! =)

Ambrosia Fruit Salad

Very tasty and cheap! I bought all generic items and spent about 6 bucks. Awesome recipe especially when fresh fruits are out of season.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
Wow, I hardly eat meat, let alone pork and this recipe was awesome! The Au ju was very salty to serve as is, so I made a gravy. I started in a saucepan making a rue with butter and flour. Then added 3 or 4 laddles of the au ju and a couple of splashes of milk. Whisked and boiled it for 30 seconds and voila--gravy. To throw everything in the slow cooker took five minutes. Simple and tasty dinner!

Baked Potato Soup II

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
This is a good BASE recipe, but as many others have suggested, it needs SPICES. Into my rue I added--2 cloves of garlic, a quarter of a white onion, salt and pepper. At the end, it still needed more salt and pepper. I also had to add chicken stock base and two stems of green onions.

Delicious Egg Salad for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
Wow, for such simplicity this recipe is awesome! I cut the recipe in half and it still turned out. I ate in on a toasted hamburger bun, a crispy peice of lettuce and tomato. Yum! This recipe is a keeper! =)

Easiest Brownies Ever

I followed the recipe exactly and ended up with burnt edges and a raw middle. The brownies themselves weren't that good either...

Spinach and Feta Pita Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
Wow, these are so good and so filling! You have to use the whole wheat pitas! I used regular basil pesto because that is what we had on hand. These are phenominal and I don't feel guilty eating it! Thanks for the recipe!

Southwestern Black Bean Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
My family really enjoyed this but I had to add extra spices such as extra taco seasoning, cumin, and onion powder, because it started off too bland. To top the stew, I had cheese, sour cream, limes, jalapeno, and I also made tortilla strips in the oven to top the stew with. I thought it tasted like a glorified chili but my family liked it.

Cornbread Muffins II

My batter was way to watery and I had to add an extra quarter cup of flour to get a batter consistency. Kind of bland as well, very moist though.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

This recipe was not good at all. Too much cream cheese in this recipe for such a light vegetable. My brother gagged trying them. No thanks...

Broccoli Cheese Soup V

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
The recipe was okay. Very easy to make if you follow the directions. I cut the recipe in half and still had leftovers. I'm not a big fan of Velveeta so I used half Velveeta and half cheddar.
