Adrienne's Tom Ka Gai

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
I've been following this recipe for the past few years and have always had success. I use shrimp instead of chicken, because it tastes more like the one we get at the local restaurant. Also, I can do without the bok choy, but it doesn't ruin the flavor too much. I agree with the other review that a squeeze of lime in the soup at the end really brings out the flavors.

Easy Lemon Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
I'm a chocaholic but these cookies made me a believer. Not overwhelmingly lemony, which is why I don't eat lemon bars that much. So easy and quick!

BBQ Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
I liked this recipe! I was missing a few ingredients (cilantro, peppercinos) but it still came out pretty good. Needs a "kick" of something, next I will add the hot sauce suggested by others.

Blackened Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
Been using this recipe for the past 5 years and it never fails. It's quick and easy for a weeknight meal. I've served this along with fetuccini and it's balances out the creaminess.

Fried Rice Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
Just made this as part of our dinner tonight and it was good! Very simple to make. I used the suggestions of others: used frozen mix of peas and carrots (thawed out a bit), sesame oil is definite must. I added green onion which made it taste even better. I fried the egg with some green onion before anything else and then removed it. Threw the veggies in tossed the egg back in then added some soy sauce to that. After cooking that for about 3 minutes, I added the rice and some more soy sauce. The sesame oil was added after a few stirs. Yummers!

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
This recipe is a good one because most of these items I found in my pantry. It just didn't come out as good. This could be due to a couple of reasons: 1) the wrong cut of meat 2) not enough marinating time. If you want a quick marinating recipe, this is probably not the one. I will try this again though with a different cut and more time for marinating.

Spicy Garlic and Pepper Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
This recipe was so good and easy! Husband was enjoying it so much he didn't leave too much left overs for me. But that's ok. I did find the red pepper flakes to be too much so next time I make this it will definitely be cut down to what I would usually use to season it.

Salsafied Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
This was good with the suggestions of the other reviewers. My husband loved it, but I felt that it was missing something. I didn't have instant rice, so I made rice with the broth and then added it (as suggested by another) to the chicken.

Salmon with Creamy Dill Sauce

Reviewed: May 2, 2009
Very simple and quick to prepare. I used fillets and added sprigs of dill to the top along with the lemon and onion. The sauce is good too, but when I made it it was a bit thick (not sure if it's supposed to be) so I had a little more lemon juice. I put more dill in the sauce too. I've made a variation of this sauce by adding cucumber instead of onion and that's refreshing! Try it!

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

YUMMERS! Me and husband enjoyed this very much. I was a little skeptical of the cheese crackers in it, but it was delish! Will be making these again. Thanks for the great recipe!

Chicken Katsu

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
Easy quick recipe. I say add some spices to the flour or directly to the chicken before frying, it can be bland. I've sprinkled garlic powder, ginger and onion powder just to add something to it. Give it a try though and serve it with fried rice.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

So yummmy! Followed the recipe using suggestions of others: no salt and no sugar. I had dried rosemary at home so I used that. I had everything at home so it was a easy peasy!

Honey Walnut Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
Very delicious! Easy to make. I made a mistake of adding all the mochiko to the egg whites so it was a like a big ball of glue rather than a batter, a little water helped with that. Tastes just like the restaurant. Happy cooking!

Come out perfect every time! I didn't have cheese crackers one time so I just put in buttery type crackers and it was still great. Nice base to take and make your own.

Angel Hair with Feta and Sun-Dried Tomatoes

YUM! This was so easy to whip up for dinner. I added some rotisserie chicken I had from the store to the pasta. I didn't really use the measurements in the recipe, you can adjust it to your tastes. Enjoy!

Really pretty good and easy to make. If you have parm cheese, throw it in there. In my opinion that's what was missing.

Best Brownies

Easy and delicious. I didn't make the frosting but I think I will next time. I also made it exactly as the recipe is written and I yielded 9 small brownies (I don't know why 9!) Anyway, I'd probably double the recipe.
