Dutch Apple Pie with Oatmeal Streusel

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2013
I've never tried Dutch Apple Pie. I always made traditional apple pie. My husband requested it so I found this recipe and tried it as is. Delicious! I made it for our "Pre-Thanksgiving" with family and friends. It was gone in no time! Thanks for the great recipe!

Fried Corn with Smoked Sausage

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2013
I made this last night. The only changes I made were to add different spices to my taste (more garlic, more pepper, a little cayenne, some perfect pinch vegetable (about 1/2 tsp). I did not use the msg (don't have any) or the onion salt. I also added 1.5 cups of cooked rice instead of serving over something. It was definitely different and very yummy! Thank you for the recipe. I will definitely be making this again.

Southern Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2013
I made this last night and it was delicious! As others reviewers suggested, I soaked in ice water with salt for about 15 minutes while I prepared everything else. I also added a few suggested spices. I mixed all of my spices together and rolled the chicken in that before dredging the flour. I used salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and cayenne pepper (we like it spicy!). Once dredged in flour, I let it rest on a wire rack for about 10 minutes so the flour and spices wouldn't just fry off and stick to the pan. I fried in an electric skillet at 360 and turned it very often (about every 5 minutes). I used only drumsticks because that's what we like. I cooked it 30 minutes and it was spicy, crispy and cooked to perfection. I will definitely be using this recipe from now on. Thank you!

Chicken Spaghetti III

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
Very yummy but seemed a little dry. I think next time I will try 2 cans of soup to thin the sauce out just a little. I used rotisserie chicken to save on time. This was a big hit with the whole family and I will definitely be making it again and again!

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2012
Like other reviewers, I used cream of mushroom soup. Instead of the au jus and water, I used 1 can of French Onion soup. I also added fresh sliced mushrooms to the slow cooker in the last hour. This is absolutely delicious! It's a favorite for my boyfriend and I've made it 4 or 5 times now. Thanks for the recipe!

Mushroom Rice Pilaf

I made this tonight using chicken broth instead of the water and bouillon and added a little minced garlic. Completely delicious and gone quick enough to testify to how good it was! Thank you.

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
I omitted the raisins and added 2 tsp orange zest and @ 1/2 cup chopped almonds. Very tasty. I also used a food processor for the butter rather than grating it.
