About this Cook
I am newly married, and I never really learned how to cook. I am learning little by little with the help of recipes, and the occasional tip from my mom. I haven't given my husband food poisoning yet, so I think I am doing okay!
My favorite things to cook
I love ethnic cuisine (I'm just an American white girl, lol), we eat a lot of Cajun, authentic Mexican, and I've been on a German kick lately.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I wasn't allowed in the kitchen while my mom was cooking when I was a kid, so I never really got to take part in any of the traditions my family had.
My cooking triumphs
My mother telling me that my meatloaf was better than hers!
My cooking tragedies
I once made corn flake crusted chicken. It is the only thing I've ever made that my husband asked me not to make again.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies
The VERY BEST COOKIES EVER! They are gorgeous when they come out of the oven and taste better than any cookie I have ever made. The only thing I did differently was use 1 t. cinnamon instead of the 3/4 it calls for and I flattened them slightly after rolling them in the sugar. This will be my go to recipe from now on.
