Dark Chocolate Cake II

Whoops! I should have stayed in bed today. Ever have one of those days? I was late for an appointment and then came home to make cupcakes and used Ground Chocolate with Cocoa instead of Unsweetened Cocoa. Simple mistake, always a good idea to pay attention and read labels. The batter is runny but it was great for pouring cupcakes...although it seems that I've forgotten what 2/3 of a cup is and filled the cups to 3/4. Like I said, there just those days when anything technical or having to do with numbers and simplistic abilities should be avoided. All that said, the cupcakes are marvelous! What a good recipe, to be able to recover from accidents and perform so well. Maybe it was just too easy? I did mix the wet ingredients in a separate bowl and then added to dry. Did not use a mixer, just a hand whisk.

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Followed the recipe with suggestions from others, grilled on med. heat. The chicken turned out moist and tender, everyone that came to dinner complimented me on the dish. I personally thought I added just a touch too much mustard but I was the only one that thought that so it must have just been me. I also served Baby red potatoes with Garlic, Basil & Thyme, sweet onion rings atop-roasted. The wine was a Washington wine- Chateau Ste Michelle-Horse Heaven vineyard- Sauvignon Blanc, it complimented the chicken with a soft hint of pear & grapefruit, with crisp texture. The wine was chilled to about 52 degrees. For desert I poured a chilled Gewurztraminer ice wine into Belgium dark chocolate cups. I got 5 stars from my guests.

Simple Scones

What can I say that everyone else hasn't? Great recipe, they don't last long, my friends and family always ask for them. Great recipe for all ages, love that you can do just about anything to this recipe like adding stuff and they always turn out truly scrumptious!

Mixed Fruit Crisp

I concur with others, this is a great way to use the fruit before it's to late. I used apricots, apples, nectarines, banana, blueberries & peaches. I did however, leave out the water as I had fruit that was pretty soft and very juicy.

Simply the Easiest Beef Brisket

Great recipe, everyone enjoyed the meal. I also, as previous reviewers suggested, cut the sugar and used dark brown sugar and the Heineken beer... couldn't have asked for a better brisket. Thanks PMARRIE
