St. Louis Toasted Ravioli

I did coat the ravioli with flour first for the 2nd half I cooked and those did a lot better! I also used panko bread crumbs and they were a little more difficult to get them to stick but the crunch was so nice! Fun treat.

Banana Pancakes I

Made these one Sunday morning (Jack Johnson anyone? :) - super fantastic! Subbed WW flour and added some mini choco chips - were a big hit and the maple syrup really brought all the flavors together, which rather surprised me as I'm not a huge fan of syrup!

WOW! these were fantastic! Disappeared like no one's business! Per another reviewer I used white vinegar instead of cream of tartar cuz mine was over a year old and i don't really like the taste of it either and the cookies puffed up perfect! I used all WW flour and did a half recipe with all butter. YUM! Will def make again.

Salad Dressing Cupcakes

These were fantastic! Made these as 'muffins' for my husband's bday with whole wheat flour and they were quick, easy, and super tasty. Used olive oil mayo and only 3/4 cup of sugar. worked great. will def make again.

Cheesecake Lemon Bars

These are fantastic! I made half a recipe and followed the ingredients exactly *only had low fat cream cheese and it still was awesome!*. Can't wait to try these the day after... I used 1 lemon and the zest/juice were the perfect amounts. Will def make again - esp for my brother who LOVES lemon bars.

Grandma Georgie's Cardamom Rolls

Well, as the 1st reviewer I thought I should follow the recipe exactly, so I did. Except for using White WW Flour instead of all-purpose (we are a non white flour house!). :) These were excellent - good flavor from the cardamom, just sweet enough and very tender. However, I do have a problem with the making of the bread. I am going to try this again using more traditional techniques (proofing the yeast, kneading before the 1st rise). Reason - it didn't rise AT ALL during the 1st rise.... I mean at all. Now, this could be partly because my water mixture was barely at 100 degrees (it cooled really fast!), I like to have mine at 110. So! I will try this again and see how it goes. Def worth trying!!

Orange Cream Milk Punch

Made this for my Mother's 60th bday party - was very nice. Had a chocolate and coffee theme going, and this was the perfect foil. Def leave your ice cream/sherbet out for several hours and use as much Sprite as you like!

Rhubarb Coffee Cake

This was fantastic. I didn't use the topping becuz I made it in a bundt, and I used all whole wheat flour. I love that there is no vanilla/spices becuz it really lets the rhubarb flavor stand out, which I LOVE!!! Used frozen rhubarb and put more than it called for as well.

Rhubarb Cheesecake

I love this cheesecake! I can't wait for spring when rhubarb is in season. It has the perfect blend of sweet and tart. I think the next time I make this I will try a graham cracker crust.... I also like to sprinkle a little cinnamon sugar on the crust before I put the rhubarb mixture on it. I've found that this does best if you make it the day before and let it firm up in the fridge. YUM!

Danish Potato Soup

Awesome use for your ham bone! This was my first attempt with a ham bone and I had one left from a spiral cut honey ham. I just tossed all the random leftover ham and the bone in and cooked just like the recipe states except I added more potato and put the nutmeg in the soup (instead of a garnish - I was taking it somewhere). I did 1 and a half times the recipe and it turned out great! I did cheat and use pre-cut bagged cabbage and carrot! Made it for small group and everyone liked it. Very light and seemingly healthy soup - might try it with fat free half and half next time. Also, hubby said maybe next time throw in some ground sausage. Will def make again! Thanks for the great recipe!

Pumpkin Muffins II

That was a lot of spices, but they sure taste good! Cut the sugar in half and used 2c. whole wheat graham flour, 1 c. unbleached white flour. Very yummy and great with Rhubarb Jam (recipe also on this site). Made mini muffins and got 48 LARGE mini muffins.

Chocolate Cupcakes with Caramel Frosting

Sensational! Up'd the cocoa powder to 2/3 cup, MUST HAVE CHOCOLATE!! left everything else the same (esp I only use WW flour) and they were dense and rich and a perfect cupcake shape! It made 15 reg size muffins. I made the frosting as well, and it was just ok - It didn't set up super great and wasn't overly carmel-ly, but still a great addition to the cupcake. Will def make again!!

Caramel Apple Coffee Cake

Very excellent recipe. Substituted no sugar added applesauce for the oil and heavy whipping cream for the milk. I also added a cinnamon swirl as suggested by an earlier review. The caramel sauce really makes this cake - I think next time I'll poke holes in the cake while still in the pan and pour the sauce over it then. Either that or just pour it over individual slices. Next time I'll also try it without the cinnamon swirl (I'm not sure if that really added to the cake). Baking time was good - maybe a smidge too long. Good apple flavor.

Traditional Gyro Meat

This worked fantastic! I suffered through with my little 2 cup food processor, but it cooked up like a dream and was super easy to slice and had great flavor! I did use 1t of salt and my grocery didn't have any ground lamb so just used all beef. YUM.

Indian Curried Barley Pilaf

I was so excited to try this because I LOVE barley, and it did not disappoint. I changed the raisins and almonds to peas and carrots because I had just had a bad experience with both (kidney stone anyone???) and we need our veggies! I added 1/2 cup more chicken broth to help cook the carrots and added more curry per other reviews. Also used oil instead of butter. Fantastic taste - I really like the subtle allspice flavor. Ate this with some tilapia - DELISH.

Strawberry Bread

Very moist and I like the pockets of strawberries - next time i'll try pureeing half of them. Also added a couple sprinkles of cloves - very good. Nice to have a recipe for those wilted strawberries!

Orange and Lentil Soup

Excellent quick soup! Didn't have any carrot so doubled the celery and threw in all the leaves and everything! Pureed it all up and it was so nice. Used fresh squeezed orange juice and threw in the pulp as well. No one guessed it had orange juice in it! Very creamy and filling!
