I come from a filipino family with a long lineage of amazing cooks! Family gatherings consist of lots and lots of delicious food. When you grow up eating good food I believe it easily transfers into becoming a good cook. A great palette is everything!
And although I do love to cook, baking is my passion... only because I get to make desserts look as mouth watering as possible by adding just small details. I've never been taught how to bake. It always has been a desire from the get go. So with the help of the internet and allrecipes my friends and family have been very pleased.
My favorite things to cook
Dessert, dessert, dessert!!! From crisps, to cookies, to tortes, to pies, and chocolate dipped temptations I love them all. Not just cooking them, but eating them, and gifting them! And when my children are grown I'd love to become a pastry chef.
My cooking triumphs
While living in Hawaii I was assigned the task of feeding 200 plus people a full Thanksgiving/ Luau meal. I had many helpers, but prep work started 2 weeks in advance in order for that evening to go as smooth as possible. I believe we roasted 12 turkeys, had 12 or so side dishes, a roast pig, 25 pumpkin pies and so on. It was a complete success and my team of helpers worked like a machine. At the end of the evening everyone left with smiling faces, full bellies AND left overs. A cooking triumph to say the least!
