About this Cook
From one foodie to many..I live in a semi rural section of Central New Jersey. Cooking for my husband and two children is something I like to do when I'm not pressed for time. My passion is cooking. I work with food all day and then come home and do it all over again. I really can't say that I get tired of it. I love a great recipe, A good cook book, (I have many) cooking for my family & friends, Love the mountains, the beach, skiing, biking and just being with my family & friends.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook soup, I have made many over the past year such as mushroom beef barley, taco, ham and potatoe soup (my family favorite) chicken, Italian wedding soup. vegetable beef.
My favorite family cooking traditions
It seems that everyone likes to come to my house during the Holidays! I like a nice table setting wich I change up for occasion & season. Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday probably because of all the prepping and cooking involved, the Fall season it occurs in and the prescence of family and friends that I have been graced with. I love Easter partly because of the easter egg hunts and the special desserts I get to prepare and eat! Christmas dinner I have taken on in the last couple of years and broke a cardinal rule this past one. I tried a new recipe for the first time. Beef Wellington. I enjoyed every part of making it and it came out Great!
My cooking triumphs
Beef Wellington, A basket cake. (checkered on the inside) not using a mold. I am frequently asked to make my linguine w/white clam sauce. I have to say that it is Lip smakin, bread dippin good! Riccotta Cheese pound cake. Highly recommend! I rate my triumphs by the reaction I get from others and the condition the dish is in once it is finished cooking.
My cooking tragedies
had to think about this one. My MIL and I tried to make rice pudding and put all the ingredients in the pot at one time. We cooked it litterally for HOURS! The rice never softened !!?? I have made it since and it has come out "pretty good". need to convince my SIL to lend me her recipe. She makes hands down the best I've ever had.

White Peach Sangria
Used two 750ml bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, 1c peach schnapps, 1/2c peach vodka, 6 shots of lemoncello, 1 LB of white peaches and some halved red grapes. I am letting this sit overnight for a party on Friday, Will be adding some 7 up or Ginger ale and cut up strawberries to this right before I serve it. As it sits now without the Ginger ale, it is Way Strong! It definately needs to be cut w/ soda of your liking. It also really needs either the frozen lemonade concentrate or Lemoncello. I would not omit this. I dd however omit the sugar. IMHO it doesn't need it. Great recipe!! Cheers!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins
Made the recipe as printed and They came out absolutely delicious! They even looked pretty out of the oven. A keeper for sure!

Pear and Gorgonzola Cheese Pizza
OH MY *** This was such an awesome recipe. We make pizza every day at work so I brought the ingredients into work and we made a small pie for us women to share and critique... here are a few comments. this makes a Fantastic appetizer. definately for a grown up palate and would pear well with a great red/full bodied wine. Excellent
