Zucchini Brownies

really good and chocolaty. love that they have zuchini. I use whole wheat flour and dust with powdered sugar rather than icing.

Spicy Black Bean Soup

this is an excellent black bean soup recipe! At first glance you might think it has too much garlic, but don't skimp---it adds a nice mellow flavor. this is seasoned very well--just a bit different from your average black bean soup recipe.

Marinated Turkey Breast

Excellent. I used this on a skinless, boneless turkey breast. Did not remove from marinade and baked covered in a glass dish for 50 minutes until thermometer read 170. Very, very tasty with reserved juice.

Almond-Honey Wheat Bread

The only alteration I made was adding 1 to 1 1/2 Tbsp more water. This is a wonderful bread. It is kind of the wheat bread I have been looking for. I love the crunch the almonds give it. Nice and dense and moist without being too crumbly. Very nice!

Plum Custard Kuchen

This is fantastic. Use Italian plums...these are better for cooking and provide the "tart" to balance the sweetness of the custard. I, too, doubled the custard as recommended and it worked great--just needed extra baking time. Next time I would only use 3/4 cup sugar in the custard, though. A whole cup was too sweet. Great recipe!!

Classic Chicken Noodle Soup

As good as all the rave reviews suggest. Don't need to change a thing. I did use whole wheat noodles and just put in the whole 16oz bag...it worked perfectly. This will become a family staple. thanks!

Lentils and Rice with Fried Onions (Mujadarrah)

I thought this was just ok. I added the spices as recommended, but it still seemed to be lacking. Good but not great. Don't think I'll go out of my way to make it again. But people are right--the onions are key I'd use 3-4 next time.

We did not care for this at all. Mine came out dry and salty with little flavor. I may attempt this again to see if I did anything wrong--I follow the recipe exactly. But will likely look for a different recipe.

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Excellent! This is nearly identical to a recipe my mother-in-law created for chicken breasts. For just breasts, put them in a casserole, coat them with soysauce, drizzle generously with honey and sprinkle with your preferred amount of chopped garlic. Bake until done. Simple and brilliant!

Very tasty, healthy quick balanced meal. A little too much garlic in the bean spread. I also added some cider vinegar to the cabbage/chicken mix for acid. Very good!

Unbelievable Chicken

Very good...nice citrus/mustard flavor with the nice acid bite of vinegar. Couldn't grill because of rain and were perfect under the broiler. Will definitely make again!

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

This really is just as good as everyone raves. We used it on wild caught salmon...delicious!! Used it a few nights later on Tilapia just to see...the fish stood up to the marinade, but was not as strong sweet/savory taste. Good on tilapia, great on salmon! Thanks!!

Rumbleberry Crisp

Makes a very tasty apple/berry/rhubarb crisp, however, I felt there was too much sugar and cornstarch in the fruit mixture. It did not allow the natural flavors of the fruit to come through and tasted more like a pie filling.
