About this Cook
I,like most guys never thought to much about cooking for many years. About 6 to 7 years ago I really got interested in cooking. Not just your everyday dishes but fine gourmet foods. Being my wife is a trained chef, I knew I had a lot to learn. After years of practice, studying, watching my wife and her teaching me more everyday, I can now say I am a excellent cook. Now at our house we take turns cooking meals and it has become a bit of a challenge to see who can out do the other. Of course I lose more that I win but I do hold my own. Cooking has really become a passion for me and I love to try new dishes, techniques, and different foods from around the world.
My favorite things to cook
WOW, there are so many things I can't really say what my favorite might be. Probably what I cooked the last time. I love to experiment to come up with new exciting dishes. Especially dishes from other parts of the world. Living near a world market we have opportunity to get almost anything you can imagine from around the world. Going to the market is like being in another country. Many items you have never seen or heard of. We try and get something new and different every time we go.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Having a large dinner party at our home a couple times a year for friends and family.
My cooking triumphs
Beating my wife a few times on occasion with some new dish she did not know how it was made.
My cooking tragedies
Tried to cook an Indian meal and it was not worth giving to the dogs. Total flop to say the least. Don't know if I will try that again anytime soon.

Egg and Sausage Casserole
Fixed this for Easter morning and the family loved it. I did make a few changes. I took others suggestions and baked the dough for 7 minutes before adding the mixture. Used 10 eggs, 1/4 cup milk. After cooking sausage, I sauteed 8 oz of chopped white mushrooms in 2 tablespoons butter, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, a pinch of ground black pepper. Then mixed all the ingredients together with the eggs mix before pouring into baking dish. Really helped to meld the favors together instead of putting sausage just on the bottom. Next time I am going to add some chopped green and red bell pepper, a small onion chopped, tomato chopped and 2 tablespoons of Grey Poupon Mustard. I also found that if your oven also has convection then it helped to cook and not leaving the mixture soupy as some stated. I cooked until the top was golden brown and knife was completely dry when checked. I can think of many ways to change this and will continue to use as the base.
