Turnip and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2012
good flavor in my opinion, my husband said it was ok. Probably would have been better with the bacon, but I didn't have any. I also used 1/2 cup half and half and 1/2 cup 2% milk to cut the fat a bit. I also used chicken broth instead of water and added a bit of garlic salt.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
love it! I used frozen raspberries and it worked great. I added a bit more than called for just because of what others said, but I think it would have been just fine as is. Next time for fun I might add some crushed and toasted nuts on top and maybe some oatmeal to the batter, but it does need a thing. I did have to bake it a bit longer (about 80 min.) and turned down the oven to 300 deg. after about 60 min. so the edges would get over cooked when the middle was still doughy. Thanks for the recipe.

Potato Soup

great soup, it did need a little extra. I added a little garlic with the onions, dill, and celery seed. Thanks so much for sharing. I will make this again.

BLT Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
Very tasty salad. My husband and I threw it together last minute to help our meal out and we both enjoyed it very much. I think next time though, I will use a real garlic clove instead of the powder. I just like the flavor better. The dressing can also just be mixed in a bowl I would think. We used mixed salad greens because that is what we had and we added sweet yellow pepper for fun. Thanks so much for the great recipe.

That Good Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
Great salad, amazing how the dressing complimented the tomatoes and bacon. I made a few changes because of what I had on hand. I used Monterrey jack cheese instead of Swiss and Parmesan. I also used various types of lettuce, added sweet yellow pepper, and skipped the croutons. I let the dressing sit and bit before adding it to the salad, not sure if that help mix the flavors or not. Overall, excellent recipe!

Classic Fish and Chips

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
good tasting fish, loved the flavor and it was a hit with my picky dad, husband, and mom. I tried baking the fish at first, but that was a bad idea. Stick to the frying. I baked the fries and they were good, but need some seasoning, maybe some Jonny's.

loved them, thanks for sharing. the only that worked better for me was turning the heat to maybe a low to medium so as to cook them a little slower.

Marbled Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
Very tasty and easy to make. Melt in your mouth. I used half gingersnap cookies and half graham crackers, but I think next time I will used just ginger snap to make the flavor stronger. I would recommend crushing the cookies very small so that it is easier to press into the pan. I also added extra spices like others and it was great! Thanks so much!

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
Excellent! Loved the flavors. I used about 1 tsp of orange zest instead of orange juice just because I didn't have any. Worked great. I also used allspice, extra cinnamon, and the streusel topping like other reviews and loved it! Thanks so much!
