Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2010
Made exactly as the recipe stated and it delivered! My boyfriend fired up the grill with some juicy fillets and they came off PERFECT, like I would expect from an expensive restaurant. Will not need to waste money on mediocre steaks when dining out anymore when we can just whip this up.

Cheesy Ranch Potato Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
It was pretty good, reduced the butter to 3tbs as suggested, and agreed it was still too much. I guess I fantasized that the butter would be absorbed, as I put in on top of the potatoes before I put them in the oven, but actually it all went to the bottom. I used the species as directed but sprinkled everything once over with seasoning salt, too. Also, I put the ranch dressing on before I put it in the oven, and that was absorbed. I will def make this again!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
EXCELLENT. I used this to season tacos that I served to my boyfriend and he was practically inhaling them. I will definitely use this again. It's so flavorful, but not overpowering, tasted authentic, I can't say anything bad about it.

Poor Man's Caviar

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
Made this and have served to my boyfriend and two friends, so far everyone likes it! I used a yellow onion instead of a small/sweet onion and decreased the parsley (will decrease even more the next time I make it as I don't really like cool-toned foods as much). It is great warm or cold.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
I enjoyed this a lot. I made it as the recipe indicated and served it for a large party. It went fast, nobody was able to get seconds. I might play around with different cuts of meat. Will be making this again and again.

The Best Banana Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
I've made this recipe several times since it was posted. I use vanilla pudding instead of banana, sometimes I omit the bananas altogether and make it more like a vanilla pudding dessert since they don't keep for long and look bad if the bowl sits in the fridge for awhile. If you're on the fence about this recipe, definitely try it! It's so worth it!

Phyllo-Wrapped Halibut Fillets with Lemon Scallion Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
I didn't like this and my boyfriend said he thought it was okay, but not great. I followed the recipe exactly. I think the sauce is what ruined it for me, honestly. Mixing the cream with the lemon juice made a fatty/twangy sauce that didn't work for me. I may try to wrap fish in phyllo dough again, though, as I enjoyed the texture.

Carrot, Tomato, and Spinach Quinoa Pilaf

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
TRY THIS RECIPE. I'm totally serious. I had a bag of red quinoa in my cabinet and decided to use it for this recipe. I used chard instead of spinach and a red bell pepper instead of carrots. It was pretty much a chop everything up and throw it in a pan type of recipe. It tastes delicious and turned out beautifully, the kind of side you'd serve to make an impression. Next time I make it I'll probably cut the pepper in half, for personal preference, but otherwise feel it's a great recipe and will definitely make it again.

Excellent. I didn't have the chipotle chile, added a dash of cajun seasoning instead, turned out great, will definitely make again!

Roasted Garlic Zucchini and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2010
I would probably give this four stars on flavor, but I gave it the extra star because it's healthy and you feel good after eating it. I may try what another reviewer suggested and sprinkle it with garlic salt. I'm eating some for lunch right now, but I'm finding it a little bland. I do like this recipe a lot because it's simple and healthy. I think if you're a person who prefers stronger flavor, this recipe has a lot of potential.

Balsamic-Glazed Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2010
This recipe was pretty good, but I probably won't make it again. The experience of eating it was not a memorable one for me. If you like sweet fish, then this is a decent recipe, as the flavors are subtle and not overpowering. I think I prefer my salmon to have a stronger flavor to it.

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
I thought these were excellent. I did what others suggested and added about 2 tbsp of veggie oil. My boyfriend and I made giant monster cookies (we came out with about 20 of them from the batter) and left them in for 9 minutes, then let them cool on the sheet and they turned out perfect. Nice and soft, but not so soft that they fall apart before they reach your mouth. This was so easy, I'll definitely make it again, and may even try other cake mixes.

Blue Cheese Burgers

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
I have to confess that I didn't have fresh meat, but rather some free range patties in my freezer that my mom got me from the farmer's market during the summer. Wanting to make them more exciting, I decided to mix the ingredients of this recipe together and smear them on top of my burger. I wasn't too hopeful that it would turn out very good as the recipe instructs to incorporate the ingredients into the meat, but both my boyfriend and I thought it tasted really good! I will definitely use this recipe again, even with my regular ol' patties. I can't wait until the summer time when I can use this recipe in its original form at a cookout and impress everyone. Excellent flavor, well worth the five stars.

Pesto Chicken Florentine

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
This came out really well. I followed the advice of other posters and added an entire package of spinach. I served it with garlic bread, mmmm. I give it five stars for the night of, and 3-4 stars for leftovers. I didn't think it tasted nearly as good the next day.

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
This recipe is now called "cashew broccoli" for me. I start with the broccoli in a pan with a little bit of water at the bottom and allow it to cook a little, then I throw everything listed in and let it simmer before adding the cashews. It turns out wonderful and delicious every time. To save calories/fat I sometimes cut back on the butter, but really you can't tell. This is a regular recipe for me now.
